The Australian’s Foreign Editor Greg Sheridan says Donald Trump and Joe Biden are the two “worst candidates” the US has ever had for a presidential election.
Mr Sheridan joined Sky News host Andrew Bolt to discuss the latest developments with the upcoming presidential election.
“Donald Trump has just declared he would encourage Russia to attack NATO members if they didn’t pay their dues to NATO,” Mr Sheridan said.
“Trump’s statements are as irrational as Biden’s but they’re irrational in a more rational way – he’s deliberately irrational.
“This is a terrible contest, the demented against the deranged.”

Trumps NATO comment was meant for one person. Biden. Trump is correct in thinking that this Ukraine and Russia war is a creation of Bidens political jabs with whispers of Ukraine joining NATO. Trump and Biden are what America has to offer. There has been a vacuum of leadership in the US. They have both had their chances to show how incompetent they are as presidents. None of them is going to do anything good domestically for the American public. But Trump is going to do a lot to his enemies. I think that will be his top priority. Trump's presidency will be about vengeance. Internationally, Trump is going to forsake NATO. Ukraine and Israel will have to look after themselves. So will Japan and South Korea. I am not sure about Trump's attitude about genocide. I don't think he has any respect for the ICJ. If Kushner becomes his Foreign Secretary, then there won't be peace in ME. War with Iran is likely, as he hates Iran as much as he hates China. Taiwan can be a hot issue as Trump is extremely anti-China. I don't know how he is going to navigate himself between Putin and Xi. With Taiwan, I think both men are equally bad for China.
