Truck Driver Rescued A Little Girl Lost In The Woods, But When The Schoolgirl’s Father Invited..
It was still August, but the weather was still unusually rainy and gloomy. It was drizzling rain, and the wet drops were drawing sad “arrows” on the window of the cabin, with their point going “down” somewhere. The driver of that old, half-ruined Kamaz was in exactly the same mood at that moment. Mark was thirty-two years old, and he had spent the last seven years driving a truck all over the country. The work as a truck driver didn’t bring him much joy, but on the other hand, it allowed him traveling and seeing something new every day behind the window of his truck. This sometimes helped him distract from unhappy thoughts about his life. And now, returning from Gorlovka, a run-down village in the north of Moscow region, Mark involuntarily plunged into thoughts about “the day to day”. Lately he had been having a bad time at work: Mark’s boss – Jack – fully justified his sonorous surname. The director of the trucking company where Mark worked had an unbearable temper – and it got worse as he went on. Not a day went by that Jack didn’t call Mark and give him another one of his grievances.

  1. The story is interesting, but how the translation can be so horrible?! Not just several unfinished sentences but how can the narrator say “Street Petersburg” instead of Saint Petersburg” it is so outrageous that words can’t describe it. I’m not from Russia however I doubt that the translator knows that Russia is a country and Saint Petersburg used to be it’s capital but there is nobody around who would notice and correct something so horribly disrespectful toward another nation?
