‘Troublemaker’ William Lai Ching-te to take oath as Taiwan’s new president



Taiwan’s new leader has been sworn in.
President Lai Ching-te has promised to continue the policies of his predecessor Tsai Ing-Wen.
Lai Ching-te’s term is also expected to be a continuation of the frosty relationship with Beijing, which has labelled the incumbent leader a ‘trouble-maker’ for refusing to accept Chinese sovereignty.

Why would Taiwan want to be part of China … from the civil war that’s the only land they have left and they have totally different values from the mainland China , it’s up to tawainese to vote for independent state or be part of China … I don’t understand why China is so obsessed about Taiwan, let the ppl decide for themselves
