Kid’s Lit – Nothing about grim reality, of course, because “working class, small town, life” is the chosen scene. Dad works ‘at the mill’, Mom’s a housewife, and Clay’s idolized older brother will soon come along home. It will be great having him back! Except Mitch, the older brother, has learned a thing or two – and he will now begin teaching Clay some of his hard-acquired knowledge. Seems a bit 1950 but copyright says 2011. I’m passing this one on to Granddaughter 2 whose own “troublemaking” tends to slip out. Can’t think where she got it from!
