  1. Sad to see Tropicana go. I've been staying there for almost 40years. Amazing memories. Got married at the island of Las Vegas Tropicana. Yes the pool was cold , but very beautiful. Heating would be good. Beautiful bungalow suites. Hope they keep the theme.

  2. Le Reve was my favorite, saw it 3 times. The athletics, set designs, and costumes were amazing! I recommend Mystere for CDS newbies. It provides all-around entertaiment. I was fortunate to go on a behind the scenes tour of Mystere for locals about 15 years ago- that was amazing too!

  3. It would be cool for Bally’s to retain the Tropicana brand due to its obvious history. Lived in Vegas in 1980 and the Trop back then had the feel of a locals casino today without the community center vibe. They had a lounge act back in the day called “The Brothers Revue” which was a spot-on Blues Brothers take complete with a tall and lanky brother and a short heavy one. Brief case with the handcuffs too. Very entertaining!

  4. Both Excalibur and Luxor should be imploded and replaced with a massive Fitness/Sports, Hotel and Casino Resort. Imagine a giant domed complex with a cross-fit centers that could fit 5000 individuals working on advanced, state of the art equipment; water sports complex for indoor surfing, kayaking, scuba and swimming; running surfaces with tracks for both sprinting and semi long distances; rock features for both trad and sport climbing; the largest X games and e-sport venues and multiple-run ski slopes that would rival Dubai Ski. Of course, all those would have to be designed so that they all integrate to create an all-you-can-do exclusive resort with the casino and hotel. They should hold regular competitions and bill it as the world's premiere sporting site, where Olympic athletes could even train. I'd build it if I have Bezos or Musk money.

  5. I accidentally went to Atlantic City's Sands the night before they shut down (I think they shut down at 5:59am the next day). Anyways, it was one of my favorite, most memorable visits to a casino. The staff left the trash on the floor, they only had beer and ice cream at the restaurant; it made you feel like "you really did something." If you have a chance to go to a casino the night before they close, do it. You feel like you won, even if you lost a lot of $$ there

  6. What’s up guys? You always talk about KA cirque du soleil. Ok, it good, but Have you been to “THE ONE” at Mandalay? Go see the show and let us now how good was what was your experience. Cheers!!

  7. I was in Vegas last week and there is a definite shift in vibe there! A whole new voodoo 🤣. That new feeling is carrying over into properties and remodels. Vegas is going to be a very different place in 5 years.

  8. Bally’s Sports, the regional sports networks aren’t owned by Bally’s. They’re owned by Sinclair Broadcasting, who bought them from Fox Sports after Disney bought a big chunk of 20th Century Fox and Bally’s licensed use of their name. They did the same as companies licensing their names to sports stadiums. And the Bally’s casino in Vegas was built as the MGM Grand and changed hands, and name, a few years after the fire in 1980. When I stayed there in 1991, the decor still reflected the MGM Grand’s; photos of movie stars in the hallways and rooms.

  9. I cried. I literally cried when they imploded the Stardust. I still miss driving east on Desert Inn and coming down the hill from Lindell to Decatur all the way down to Valley View and seeing the sign. I hope they implode Tropicana though bc its just a shadow of the lush Tropical landscape it used to be. They shut down the waterfalls and ponds and tore out all the trees and bushes. It looks terrible. The stained glass isn't even lit up inside anymore. It saddens me to see these old beautiful historic buildings not being taken care of. Corporations ruin everything. On that note, I'm done with my rant and can't wait to see what you guys have in store for Friday!

  10. I used to love the museum they had inside the Trop. Old LV memorabilia and I think it was free and you could buy some of the stuff. Also the aerial trapeze acts going on inside that dome above gamblers. I popped in there in May this year about 9pm to try and find something to eat and struggled to find anywhere open. So sad.

  11. I never stayed at the Tropicana but did gamble there several times. I do hope they preserve the gaming area with the vaulted roof. It made it a special place to play. I even played roulette there for the first time there. By the way I don’t think they will sell the Tropicana buildings for a sports stadium since Bally’s only owns the buildings not the land under them. They have a long term lease on the land with Gaming and Leisure Company that owners the land under the Tropicana.

  12. I was conceived at the Tropicana!! I think the Trop needs to be not only preserved but restored!! If you walk around there you'll notice that it has been the victim of several very strange and random remodels over the years. There is tons of unused space in that resort as it stands, not to mention plenty of real estate on property for expansion.

They should follow the lead of the GSR company renaming Sahara and embracing the name and the history (there was talk of originally renaming SLS to GSR). It would be so stupid of them to rename it Bally's for no good reason other than the change in ownership.

Also… yes Boyd owns the Stardust name and they currently use it for their free online casino app.

  13. I hope the A’s move to the area near Circus Circus, but if they move onto the Trop property, it would be cool if they could integrate the bungalows into the outfield somehow. Those could become super premium rooms for baseball fans.
