  1. A magnificent film, enjoyable and extremely well made. Unfortunately, however, it pushes people to believe that the war was won thanks to the Americans when, contrary to what Westerners believe, the Normandy landing was a diversionary action, albeit extremely important, from the real offensive which was that Russian.

  2. You had a great opportunity to ask him, “What do you mean when you say these Mormon brothers love the same Jesus?” Dallas needs to be challenged on this, and you have the theological ability to have done it.

  3. Wow, 23 cigarettes in one sitting. Can you imagine the stench on that woman!
I'm also wondering at what point the movie gets good. I made it past the 37 minute mark (where she lit up another cigarette – no big surpise there) and will forever wonder how I had the stamina to make it that long. I guess I'm just an optimist.

  4. “Compelling” indeed. Hollywood finds itself outdone by this improbable costume farce. But excellent lighting, decent casting, shameless mugging, and tissue-thin plot. King Hambone himself, Brynner graces the film. Oh, and the woke subtitles (prison entrance) where the “Heil Hitler” translated as Herr Henkel…precious.

  5. One helluva story perfectly realized by everyone involved. This kind of quality film making is impossible in the current political insanity that grips and strangles Hollywood. Tinseltown is going broke because they cannot tell stories that grip and compel interest. Hollywood is dead and already decaying.
