Jet2 Trip Report flying from Rome to Manchester onboard one of the Jet2 Boeing 737s on a beautiful summer morning.

A comfortable flight from Roma-Fiumicino to Manchester on the Jet2 Boeing 737. Flying with Jet2 means being in a holiday mood since the very first moment that you board the plane. That’s what the airline wants and that’s what crew always do. In this case, it wasn’t different.

After some exploration and beautiful planespotting at Rome-Fiumicino Terminal 3, we boarded the Jet2 Boeing 737-800W that would take us to Manchester. We took off towards the Mediterranean Sea and quickly made a 90° turn to the north to start our route to Manchester.

We flew all the way up in parallel to the Italian west coast until reaching the Genova area. We then overflew Torino and the beautiful Alps. From Geneva, we set course towards London across France and the English Channel. Once over London we flew direct towards Manchester, were we landed a few minutes after the scheduled time of arrival.

About the onboard service, besides the onboard menu, Jet2 offers a pre-order meal service which we took advantage of. We pre-ordered this time the Chicken Tikka Masala. Although it wasn’t anything super amazing, it’s always nice to have the option of pre-ordering some more elaborate warm meal for your flight.

  3. Thankyou once again Lucas. I really enjoyed this one. All the views were brilliant and the alps were my favourite especially with some snow still visible making it even more special.   4. Hola, chévere el vídeo. La comida se ve deliciosa y, tal como dijiste, sacó excelente puntaje.

    Increíble que, ya dejando la primavera, aún se ven esos glaciares sobre Los Alpes, que los hace ver majestuosos.

    17:22 ¿Porque el ala se ve sucia?, ¿Son restos de hollín del motor?

    ¿Cuando vendrás a Colombia? Cuando vengas a Colombia, te recomiendo realizar vuelo Bogotá – Pasto; éste último, es el aeropuerto más difícil de Colombia cuya pista queda al lado de un profundo barranco lo que complica mucho la aproximación final por los vientos que suben por la ladera.

  12. Si que he estado de transbordo con Alitalia y sus famosos McDonald's Douglas. Hace ya años de aquello, sería el 2004 creo.

  19. I flew with Jet2 on may this year and I have to say I was really impressed, great flight , good cabin crew service and really good in flight catering, overall the best charter airline in the Uk.

  23. He estado varias veces en Roma y volé de Atenas a Roma con Aegean, de Roma a Budapest con Wizz air ,de Roma a Madrid con Iberia y de Roma a México con la extinta Alitalia. Excelentes videos. Saludos !!

  30. Yo estuve en Roma en noviembre, ida en Iberia y la vuelta con vueling. Cuando llegué al aeropuerto me sorprendió bastante lo formado que estaba porque fuera se le veia bastante viejo excepto en algunas zonas. Menos mal que la formaron porque ahora se ve bastante moderno

  35. Flew with Jet 2 a few years ago, from Glasgow back home to Pafos. I pre-ordered my breakfast, which was delicious, could not fault the flight and service at all. Good atmosphere on board as many passengers were going on holiday. We were delayed at Glasgow due to snow and ice, which meant having to have the plane de-iced, but made up time en route back to Pafos where we landed in our usual beautiful weather. Jet 2 menu is excellent and I just like to mention the menu choices on Ryan Air are also very good.

  36. I'm massively in the minority but i find Jet2 annoying. I find the automated announcements patronising, and i hate that bloody song – they've been using it for years. I prefer Ryanair, TUI and easyJet over Jet2.
