  2. This right here gives me hope that Nigeria will work again. We can actually do the right thing if we have people who are ready to work to handle things. Thank you Minister Kayamo for this. Thank you Mr Sunday Ayodele for the good work you and your people are doing. Being able to get rid of touts at the airport is one of the greatest achievements so far. This makes me so happy.

  3. This Airport needs a reform in the way they operate and a system put in place to check the corrupt idiots working there. We need people who care about the image of the nation, not about their pockets.

  4. I am really happy with the new Terminal. The Old Terminal need urgent renovation so we can have 2 good International Terminals. Good Job with the removal of Touts. We also need to find a way to check begging customs, and immigration officials, as this is worse than the the Touts. Officials begging and taxing travellers is a shame and need to be mitigated ASAP. Well-done for the good Job done so far, please let us finish strong with the 2 suggestions above .

  5. Nigerian airports are this way because we continue to fit rectangular pegs in square holes.
I remember when I newly graduated from Aviation management in Europe in 2015..couldn't get a job in Nigeria. My colleagues are all airport, ground handling, 3PL and airline managers around Europe.
Nigerian Airports suffer in 3 main areas: 1- Ease of Access, 2-customer service and 3-infrastructure.

The funny thing is that most of the problems we face are very easy to solve. I will give an idea to resolve one of the major problems we have in each category.

    1. Customer service with Customs officials.
To stop customs officials from begging. Assign Customs Officials to specific numbered booths at specific timeframes. Get barcode driven feedback systems behind customs clearance. Give Nigerians the opportunity to fish out the bad eggs. "Not Happy with service? Scan the barcode (on your phone) to share your feedback "…If the QOS is terrible, allow them flag booths by time and use a 3 count system. Any custom official that gets flagged 3 times, ban them from operating at the airport. In a country where lots of people are looking for jobs…we shouldn't be plagued by beggars in Customs.

2.Ease of access. Create an airport drop off stop for interState transport services to operate on schedule. These people mover systems will be lovely and compliment the local light rail services to allow more options to access the airport via other means than private cars and taxis. Ease transport around airports. Every other country does this. Have really seen it in Nigeria.

    3. Infrastructure. A LOT needs to be done. I can talk on this forever. I will only ask how they plan to link Terminal 1 to terminal 2. I have 5 ideas on that already .

I don't think the airport manager knows what he is doing. Making statements like the ones he made I wouldn't have this guy managing a village airport, not to talk about an international airport.
His eldorado airport is of a far lower standard than the city airport where I attended school in Poland. My class mate manages that airport btw.
