Traveller tracks lost luggage for 5 days with AirTag after flying from Toronto Pearson airport

Frequent air traveller Kelly Laing was flying from Toronto to Saint John, N.B., late last month on a flight she takes often between the two cities, but this time her checked luggage went missing. Fortunately, she had thought ahead and placed an Apple AirTag in her suitcase.

Laing made a series of videos and posted them on TikTok as she described the nearly one-week journey of her checked baggage originating in Toronto. For five days, Laing said she tracked her luggage on her iPhone, thanks to the AirTag.

“No notifications from Air Canada, no emails updating us on our luggage. The only thing I had was that tracker and if I didn’t have it, I would probably be worrying a lot more,” she said.

  1. In other news, sleepy joe gave off like 5 million barrels of oil… while the american gas prices are skyrocketing…

Think this doesnt affect canada? Transport of good require gas. Which means the prices of those goods go up too.

  2. Pack light! Carry-on luggage only. Bigger items can be Fedex'd ahead of time. Fedex is more reliable than airline baggage. Forget air-tags. That is just free advertising for Apple. Air tag does not prevent luggage from being lost. It only gives you more stress as it tells you where your lost item is. Just like security cameras do not prevent burglars. It just shows you how burglars steals from you.

  3. I don't see how the apple tag can help find your luggage. All it can tell you is what airport it's in but other than that what can it do. The airport found the bag on their own.

  4. Stencil your name and frequent flyer number on the outside of your luggage so when it ends up in the giant lost luggage pile waiting to be shipped to Alabama for resale you can demand to see the pile and rescue it!

  5. Canada has become a disgrace on every front. I regret serving in the military. This country and its 'leaders' are clueless about everything.

  6. Trudeau:
We as responsible and Democratic country are stepping forward and doing the right thing by relying on science. We have gathered all luggage regardless of its ethnicity, colour, or gender in one location at the airport so every suitcase and bag will be in the inclusive collection of luggage. We are still looking for black bags because black bags matter.

  7. I just did the same thing with me and my buddy’s camping gear in Vancouver checked into Air Canada going to London. I could tell before takeoff our bags were not on board and we can see day 3 they are still sitting in Vancouver. And now we have no place to sleep camping so we have to buy all new gear.

  8. I wonder if all the CEOs of air Canada didn't get a single paycheck until all the lost luggage was found or paid for.. wonder how long this problem would be fixed ?? 5 maybe 6 hours ??
