TRANSFORMING A WRITEN OFF FIESTA ST INTO A RACE CAR! (EP.3)

So i had a tight budget to create a race car out of the money we got from breaking our OLD race car.. so I bought this Fiesta ST MK7 as an insurance write off, with the intention of turning it into the NEW race car.

Now the car was a Cat S and we wasnโ€™t that sure why, until we saw the boot floor was all bent in, BUT the car does have low mileage and it is a GREAT base for what we need it for. In the last episodes we fixed the damage to the car and got it ready to go out on track before we start heavily modifying it.

But.. theres one last thing to do!

  2. I tried to get insurance through Greenlight just over a year ago and was told they wouldnt insure me until I'd owned the car (Focus ST TDCI) for a year because they didnt believe i was experienced enough for the power of the car.

  5. Itโ€™s all a scam. Why is it cheaper if you want your insurance for 4 weeks time rather than straight away? For new drivers that means you will be 4 weeks without driving since your test, therefore being a worse driver by the time you get back in the car. Why is it more expensive to put less miles down? Why is it more expensive if you say you havenโ€™t bought the car yet? Why is a lower powered 06 plate fiesta double the price of a higher powered 06 plate Corsa for a first time female driver?

  6. If only it was as easy as calling a specialist. Even at 45 with no claim or points ever. I had to use a mainstream insurer as no specialist would cover where I live due to where I live including Greenlight. Black listing areas i just donโ€™t agree with. Insurance is a big problem in the UK and something seriously needs to be done to improve the industry for customers of any age and any car.

  7. Itโ€™s not all about horsepower. Itโ€™s about handling You donโ€™t need much power if you can handle every bend fast, which means you can outbreak all the other cars and go round corners quicker

  8. I called Greenlight a while back and the man I spoke to was unbelievably rude and really came across as a โ€˜know it allโ€™. Such a shame as there arenโ€™t many modified car insurance companies out there.
