Guided imagery is a technique that is based on visualization, but the difference to visualization is that a guided imagery session will focus on having you engage all the 5 senses of your body, like when you imagine biting on a lemon slice, you notice that automatically your mouth starts to salivate.
Guided imagery works because as with the example of the lemon slice, the mind cannot differenciate what you sense in the physical reality with your 5 senses, and what you imagine. And that is why just imagining hypotethical things (like for example all those doom and gloom scenarios of situations that we are experiencing in life) cause your body to feel stressed and sick IN REAL LIFE.
Guided imagery is NOT meditation, because in meditation you are to focus on one particular thing, be it your breath, a candle flame, or even your very thoughts like clouds passing by, but there has to be a singular point of focus, and there is no involvement of the senses. However, guided imagery can serve as the precursor for meditation, to start training the mind.
The main vision of this channel is to offer guided imagery sessions that can start training you to beat your mind at its own game, and retrain you to disengage from all those negative ruminative thoughts that are stressing you out and making your body ill.
Progressively, the guided imagery sessions can evolve into the practice of contemplation, and then, even help you become proficient at the technique of **active imagination**, which is a technique that the famous psychologist Carl Jung developed as a way to explore the unconscious fantasy material while conscious, and this technique can help you heal unconscious traumas, or shadows.
