Train crashes into car hauler truck stuck on tracks in South Florida #shorts

A passenger train slammed into a car hauler trailer that was stuck on railroad tracks in Hollywood, Florida, on April 12.

Alexander Quintero recorded this video while waiting at a stop light a the intersection of Dixie Highway and Washington Street. Quintero told Storyful he spotted the truck as the driver was attempting to cross the tracks.

โ€œHe tried to continue going forward and I noticed his wheels started to spin and he was not moving at all,โ€ Quintero said. โ€œI realized that he was stuck on the railroad. I looked on my mirror and I noticed the light of the train coming behind me, that is when I thought something was about to happen.โ€

Quintero said that was when took his phone out and started recording.

โ€œThe train was going fast and he was using the horn and the truck was not moving until the train crashed [into] the trailer and split it in half,โ€ he said.

According to local news reports, the operator of the high-speed passenger train, Brightline, released the following statement: โ€œA car carrier was stopped on the tracks. No injuries to crew or passengers. Service suspended between [Fort Lauderdale] and Miami (only) while PD and Brightlineโ€™s team work to clear the scene, and that effort is being affected by the weather.โ€

Brightline resumed normal operations as of around 8am local time on Thursday, according to a Facebook post.

Storyful has reached out to Brightline and the Hollywood Police Department for comment.

  1. It doesn't take a genius to understand that your trailers going to get stuck on the tracks on that incline… they make anybody a truck driver these days… here's an idea if you're bad at driving trucks don't drive them.

  2. It is so difficult to place a camera on the pass so the train driver can see in time to be able to avoid this accident? Come on,USA, even some african train operators have this…..

  3. At least all the worst drivers are taken care of slowly for each crash that happens, those which were the driverโ€™s intentional fault of course, accidents shouldnโ€™t happen of course.
