  1. I appreciate the multi choice approach. So often nowadays people think they can dictate one way to do something. That’s not how it works. Love this channel’s approach to this very polarizing subject. Great video.

  2. Excellent video. Tacit knowledge is the type of knowledge passed down from master to apprentice. You can take all the chemistry classes you want, but as soon as you take a lab, your skills really expand.

  3. "… Chinas population is dwindling…" Sounds like a joke. For USA to reach the population of China the youth (20-35yo) would have to stop working and just focus on sexual reproduction for the next 5 to 10 years if not more.

  4. This is nice and all but the focus is strictly for EVs. All this talk about improving EV production and bringing the cost down but not a single mention on improving the charging infrastructure, making it more available, more reliable, and standardize the charging interface and payment methods. That is the only thing preventing me from getting an EV. With ICE vehicles I can literally find a gas station anywhere, pull into any brand and the nozzle will fit in my car and I can pay for with with any credit card and it is going to work. In order for me to get an EV it has to benefit me and right now I see EVs as an annoyance. I have to drive out of my way to get to a charging station, hope that there one open, hope that open one is not broken, hope I already have an app for the payment method, hope that it connects with my phone. If all that happens then I charge it and wait much longer than the 3 minutes it takes me to fill up my ICE tank with gas.

  5. I guess that is good for the global regions that Toyota doesn't take a dump on, like they do the US/NA market. Plus, their super shady & arrogant dealerships here have tarnished their brand even further.

  6. Yes, I indeed sound like a broken record. It is very interesting to see what is going to happen in the future years. But what is Toyota doing to kick up the pace of the production of current models that people are already waiting for? I’m beginning to wonder if Toyota is at all concerned about producing significant numbers of Prius Primes. As late as it’s getting in the 2023 model year, it seems like there might not be many more 2023 Prius Primes built. Perhaps Toyota will start building 2024 Prius Primes. 🤞As I am very reluctant to change manufacturers, I’m beginning to think about buying vehicles from some other brand.

  7. Thanks for this info! Toyota's human centered approach is legendary! Today, we actually use it at the healthcare system I work for, known as Lean Management. It's about minimizing waste, but also taking into account values and getting input from people in the front lines to the top. We implement this daily in the morning, by mapping out quickly and methodically what we need to do our jobs. Most teams meet around 8am and by 9am our executive team knows where there are urgent needs and have communicated the support that need to be applied. It's been a wonderful tool to help professionals feel supported, and most of all help us provide patient centered care. Given the current state of US automakers (Tesla included, as it has failed their employees with discrimination and a complete ban on union organizing), I would love to see them adopt some of Toyota's practices in supporting their teams so that their employees know they are valued and are part of the company's success. It's time, as car lovers that we support those employees that are on the manufacturing floors, especially since literally our lives depend on them daily. I love when my enthusiasm for cars and helping people merge! 🥰

  8. I wish they will keep build quality even with the 20% production increase. Tesla may had the highest production, but they have mediocre quality, even after 10 years model S building experience.

  9. Only way to survive, Toyota showed courage to say they will adapt Tesla's giga press, they must. Tesla's have 600 parts less and are 50% cheaper to produce…..says it all.

  10. Great video Kirk. I give Toyota credit when they tore apart a Tesla Model Y and said it was engineering genius. They know Tesla is nipping at their toes. Good for them that they are copying Tesla giga castings. Manufacturing for them will be multiple times more efficient.

  11. So VW will have castings and SS batteries, Toyota will have that as well, Tesla will probably take SSB fom Panasonic as they are developing them as well. BMW and Merc will have next gen software and selfdriving and Nvidia chips and AI and all. So basically, in 10 years we will have cheaper BEV which will go 1000km easily and will charge fast. Sounds good to me.

  12. manufacturers saying they're gonna improve things, is like telling kids Santa Claus is coming. It only works as long as people (investors) believe it. I'd rather hear them say what already HAS BEEN DONE, instead of GOING to do.
