  1. Only went for the base because of less features and better interior in terms of lasting a little bit longer and little tougher. Went and bought the 2023 because the 2024 would come with more sensors and other features I don't need in its MT variant. Sounds like I made the right choice for my style before it was gone.

  2. i never understood why ppl wanted to pay 30k+ canadian for a car that gets gapped by a 2013 Kia Rio….yes i have gapped bone stock BRZ's in my GF's 2013 Kia Rio…these BRZ's are just glorified overpriced go karts….Toyota should have just plopped in the 3cyl turbo engine that the corolla GR got or hell even a turbo 4 cyl….ANYTHIGN is better than a gutless boxer engine that will need new heads in 60,000kms….main reason why i didnt get one actually is due to that crap engine….i love how they look tho.

  3. It's a shame that the GR86 will have shorter lifespan as is than the GT86.. thanks Eu / US regulations and Musk…
Hope we see a 3rd Gen , currently on my 2020 BRZ , love it! it has slightly shorter gear ratio so it is a bit less slow.

  4. Honestly if Toyota put the v6 the Camry has, in the gt86 and threw a supercharger on, it would rival the lotus evora. I mean that literally what the lotus has… same engine the Camry uses with a supercharger strapped to it. Although lotus did there thang to it.. If they did such thing to the gt86 then there would have been no Supra or they would have had no choice but to produce the Supra in a high class than gt and ss territory. Toyotas supercharged v6 is fantastic aka Lotus Evora.. Toyota company are cheap. They also wanted to keep the car affordable to everyday people..

  5. One of the most overhyped crap since it was launched, it had a econo engine it was overrated that's why it was getting cancelled in the first place šŸ˜‚ not everyone can just have a lucky Miata. Finally Toyota is learning…

  6. so… car isn't dead, nor have toyota or subaru said there are plans to kill it. but you had to get those sweet, sweet clicks, so you just said "it may not be dead, but trust me. it will be."

and son of a bitch, it worked. here I am.

that'll be the last click you get from me though.

  7. I have the gr86 I can’t stop driving it. Old white guys give me dirty looks in their old pickup trucks. I’m 50 years old and love it. 6 speed MT IS A DYING breed of sports car. It’s my daily driver.

  8. Rumor has it that Toyota will be parting ways with Subaru on this platform. Time will tell.

Also, people saying this car is slow and unreliable – It wasn’t made for going fast in a straight line. It’s an absolute blast to drive on curvy roads.

First gen owner with 158k miles.

  9. The 86 corola was my first car… stick shift, rear wheel and it was the first car I ever worked on. And it was so fun to drive. Then after that I became a Honda boy.. (typical) now that I’m older I’m looking for a new hobby to work on again. I really like this car. Stick shift, drifter, and looks mean on the streets. I’m really considering an 86 over a civic, integra

  10. IMO: the car is near perfect, the only issues is the oil pan and RTV. I don’t understand why ā€œcar guysā€ want more power. If you want more power, get a more expensive car then. Don’t expect to only pay $30k for a 600hp+ car. It’s a SPORTS car not a SUPER car
