  1. When the cops pull you over for a traffic stop, it’s time to pull out a self-made FOIA form. While he’s writing your ticket, put the cops name and badge number on it and hand it to him with a printed section of the FOIA act that obligates him to take it. Inform the cop that all levels of government are subject to compliance with FOIA.
Ask for such things as: 1) body cam video and list of all cell phone and radio traffic, report to/from dispatcher for that day to include this traffic stop; 2) how many times he exceeded the speed limit that day; 3) how many times he failed to stop at a Stop sign; 4) what time his shift began; 5) name of his supervisor; 6) and anything else you ‘need”. (Have the most of this request already fill-in, so you are simply adding their name and date/time. Take a picture of what you are submitting.)
Frankly, EVERYONE could do this. EVERYONE should have a FOIA Request at the ready and give it out every time we enter a government office or talk to a government public servant.
