With regards to the game industry my opinion as an indie:
Things went in a direction they never should have gone. It went from obscure nerds working hard jobs, with TONS of crunch because they liked it. They had fun doing it. It wasn't an easy job but they enjoyed it. Now you have nepotism and millions of dollars. People seeing it as the "trendy cool kid thing" to do.
I see them all whining about the layoffs. I say, welcome to being an indie. I have to supplement my income through other forms of labor cause no one giving me millions of dollars, health insurance, or any form of payment for what I'm doing. If you really like games, keep making them and hope it pays off. It may not. Welcome to my reality. This industry never should have become a trendy kid scene.

My wife watches Booktubers and a few of them put their daddy issu-I mean pronouns in their names for livestreams (all women on the panels). Every time the pronoun is "She/Her" like it wasn't a given.

Is it me, or did it strike anyone else as funny that everyone pronounced Kirsche's name wrong the entire time? Or maybe I'm the one that's wrong, as I always that it was "Keer-sha," not "Kersh."

I might actually subscribe to this German named based VT. Watched Pippa clips before but her voice is too grating for long listening but Kirsche speaks normally.
It's pronounced keer-sh-eh. German for cherry. It shouldn't be this hard to learn basic continental vowels when most sounds already exist in English words. As for German, just ü doesn't exist. Ö is very similar e in nerd or u in hurt. However, it's understandable if you butcher sounds that don't exist in your language. I'll never fully master some myself. Th I never pronounce in a naturally sounding way. Same with some Chinese sounds.
