Labour’s shadow chancellor Rachel Reeves says “there wasn’t anything yesterday that remotely compensates for the tax increases that we’ve had under the Conservatives these last four years.”
She also pointed out that the Office for Budget Responsibility (OBR) said “not only is the tax burden at a 75-year high, but it will increase every year over the next five years.”
It was put to Ms Reeves that the rise in Universal Credit and the national living wage indicates that the Tories are putting themselves on an election footing, and she replied that when that comes next year, the question for people will be if they are better off than they were.

Labour wanted longer lock-downs and called the government reckless for ending it when it did. It would have accrued even more government debt than the Conservatives did.
As like the Conservatives, Labour will follow what 'the climate change committee' tells them energy policy will be. Its law ! That's why we were left so exposed to world prices , because government were told to reduce energy production within the UK to meet Carbon targets.

Burley is a disgrace. Perception is not reality. People perceived the earth was flat and the sun orbited the earth. Reeves talked about the independent OBS and Burley equated that with the biased Tory press. These are not equivalent and if Burley was an independent journalist as opposed to a disgraceful tory schill she would not equate the two.
