There must be another way to get to Oz… Even in Hawaii, we get Funnel Clouds and let me tell you from me own experience: Their No Fun !!! The Biggest I even saw was out over the waters west of Kawaii hi of the Big Island. It measured about 1 mile at it's base and reached up through a clear sky to about 5 miles. It just sat there churning the ocean for about 10 sq. miles. It lasted about an hour. My worst ever for not just visual… I get sucked into one in 2011 and spent the next 2 months in a coma, waking up not in Oz but in Ouch Land. I had broken my neck, my back and folded my hips. Just thankful that where it spit me out , an EMS crew had stopped to eat lunch and they worked on me to stabilize me. Clicking my heals 3 times and wishing to 🐝 home didn't erase the damage. About 19 months later Vertigo started up and it varies from day to day and minute by minute. Just thankful to Jehovah to be somewhat useful these days.
I was in 1st grade and collected hail balls while a funnel cloud appeared over our neighborhood on April 3 1974. That tornado went down a road and took out every other house.
The level of a tornado is only determined after it hits your home. A recent level 1 can laid waste to hardwood and pine forests – think mowing your yard with a dull blade, pulling while cutting. It takes your life for a spin. It played hop scotch thru the country side. And we're protected by a mountain range, only the 2nd one in 50 years. The 1st one was also a level 1, and I agree completely, it was minimally damaging. This recent one, more like a 3, pulling trees completely out of the ground, or twisting the trunk until it broke. Where you previously couldn't see the skyline, you now have clear blue skies/skyline. I'm already tired of seeing it every day, two ways to work & it was intriguing, now it makes you realize how lucky you were, but how unlucky they were. Under a mile from my house, and it didn't even rain. 2am
I don’t believe those stats. Dangerous tornados have come through SE Oklahoma for so long. That part of the state may not have a lot of people, but those storms tear up a lot of landscape.
Yup, remember that day. Ripped up a section of our town. Of course, we were already pretty familiar with tornadoes — had tornado drills in school on top of the fire drills.
The photos and film/video that came out of Xenia, Ohio in 1974 were unbelievable. It was a complete devastation of that area without equal. There have been bad ones since (i.e. Joplin, Missouri), but I still can't remember anything that has looked as bad as Xenia.
An F1 came through our neighborhood in Nashville while we were playing kickball in the street. Little damage. The worst I saw was it put a nice 55 Chevy into the flooded McCrory creek.
I remember it well We could hear it coming My mom got everyone to the basement Then she went back up to see it Thank you Mom for the crazy streak you gave me Fear nothing 😊
I rode past one that went thru Hammond, Indiana. Was on my new motorcycle returning from work riding down tree lined streets to avoid the rain. Didn't catch any wind until I was passing a high school athletic fields where I had to lean 45° into the wind to keep going straight. The high wind ended as I crossed over 8 sets of RR tracks (railyard) then went around the corner to see trees laying across the road. I rode thru yard to get around those for three blocks before reaching my block. There I saw my neighbor's giant maple tree had twisted apart in two and was now laying on top of my brother's new used pickup parked in the driveway. The houses in my neighborhood were built from 1900 to 1925 so only lost some shingles. The same twister went thru newer construction a few miles away where the homes had their roofs torn off, including the rafters.
Wish I could click the link to watch the vid.
Love your show, keep it up!
If Bill Nye was a History Guy instead of a science guy 😁
Why is it that he sounds like Bill gates. Looks like him too.

I remember seeing a crazy 16mm movie bout this when I was in grade school. Scared the hell out of all of us kids
Wow, I seen one on film that was like half a mile wide? Does that sound wrong?
I blame climate change.

My pups lived through this, told me stories of driving away from them, they destroyed everything behind them as he started through the rear window.
if that outbreak occurred today, they would blame it on Climate Change.

Xenia stole the show

I was 20 when, in southwest Ohio we had devesting tornados in Dayton qnd Cincinnati. Xenia was completely wiped out
My wife still has PTSD from that day.

The one in Louisville, KY was BAD

I was in Columbus while Zina Ohio got wiped off the map.
2023- 29EF3's and 2EF4's 83☠️
stop seeding the skys
I remember this. Xenia got clobbered. We still talk about in Ohio.
I remember it well
We could hear it coming
My mom got everyone to the basement
Then she went back up to see it
Thank you Mom for the crazy streak you gave me
Fear nothing 😊
Climate change is a bit%ch
Remember the Xenia tornado well. Only 20 miles from me. The funnel was a full half mile wide.
You need move ..texas ohio Oklahoma kanas I keep going ..we get tornadoes every week ..you need to get better informed
Australia has the second largest number of damaging tornadoes.
I once sat through a tornado and the entire basement filled up with water
It's time for the government to tax it so that it won't ever happen again!
DEW
I was at work when we were hit in Louisville,KY. Destroyed my neighborhood on Apri 4 and decimated the town of Brandenberg😢
It has nothing to do with global warming
I saw the devastation in Louisville from one of those tornadoes.
🇺🇸 #1
Must have been the effects of the 70s ice age
BTW, in the mid-70s the scientists were telling us that we were subject to "global cooling" and facing a new ice age. Interesting…
Think of it as GOD'S wake-up call to those who subvert scripture…
We saw 3 metal transmission towers turned into twisted balls of metal, 3 in a row, still attached to their bases, awesome power
"F5" is a good book on the subject.
Location of 30 tornadoes ?
