I was sooo close to being in position for this despite leaving after work. I got to see the large tornado become a noodle tornado and then the meso handoff between Alta Vista and Alma at 8:17.

I have been chasing storms since the early 1970s when I first started driving and no one even knew what it was. Was watching storms since I was 6 years old. When I am chasing once I feel the cold air I try to keep moving to where the temperatures are the warmest and the air feels really humid with good warm air inflow. I like looking at current temperatures and dew points and where the greatest contrast of cold and warm air is. Many times the farthest south cell is where the warm air is. I am not an expert just enjoyed chasing for many years on my own. TornadoHq has been a good site for me to guide me where to go among others. Looking at Thunderstorm tops and rotation has helped me choose my locations.
When I feel the cold air come in I move south or whatever direction the warm inflow is , that is where things are going to happen. I always move to keep myself ahead of the storm before the heavy rain or hail starts it can be hard drive fast enough to get ahead or even keep up with the storm when that happens. Thank you for your live feeds it may help me locate my destinations.

There are no words to describe how I felt when I saw how quickly a cauliflower cloud turned into a massive tornado. It was very cool cause I never saw a tornado formation in real time and I was in just awe at the storm. But with all seriousness, I really hope everyone in the Kansas / Missouri area is ok. What would our world be like without chasers? Never Stop Chasing!
Late to the party, I must say that I really appreciate the more laid-back feel here. And it is nice to hear from the drivers more often and not the same info over and over every 5 seconds haha. I get it but I feel like there's a balance for it.
