Just wanted to say this sort of collective review/showcasing of games in the year is a nice touch. Helps get viewers to know suggestions and try things out, conveniently during the Summer when lots of people want to play games (and during the Steam Summer Sale too, I think?). Just wanted to say good job. Really appreciate this channel for how willing it is to try a plethora of games.
You guys are still the best reviewers out there, you actually respect story. Love your content, keep it up!
Scuse me sir, where is Sifu?
0:20 Is that Gunvolt Chronicles: Luminous Avenger iX 2?
KOFXV is easily my most played game this year, followed by Elden Ring.
My current Top 15 is…
1. Horizon Forbidden West
2. Elden Ring
3. Citizen Sleeper
4. Norco
5. Dying Light 2
6. Nobody Saves the World
7. Neon White
8. The Quarry
9. Tunic
10. Triangle Strategy
11. Card Shark
12. Kirby and the Forgotten Land
13. Ghostwire: Tokyo
14. TMNT: Shredder’s Revenge
15. Far: Changing Tides
I never understood visual novels.. if I want to read Manga I'll read Manga, and if I want to watch anime I'll watch anime. It sucks that visual novels are now hidden in games like relayer and digimon survive labeled as tactics games.
Triangle Strategy is GOTY.
Mine So far..
Elden Ring
Triangle Strategy
Sniper Elite 5
Ghostwire Tokyo
KOF 15
Shredders Revenge
Trek to Yomi
Weird West
Sifu
Tunic
I totally agree with Pokemon Legends Arceus, but my favorite game of the first half of 2022 is Eiyuden Chronicles Rising. Though I'm expecting Xenoblade 3 to beat it out for my GOTY.
Top 1 for me: Atelier Sophie 2, which I'm totally obsessed with.
What is the game from the intro with the fire sword? 🥺
While I like most of the games on this list (including the usual pleasant number of JRPGs and JRPG-adjacent games), it seems like your goal of going for a "general" list has made you forget all the indies, surprising given Noisy Pixel's usual m.o. You did include a good VN, as well as the excellent Anno Mutantionem, but that game is borderline AA and was funded by Sony and by Chinese investors, so maybe doesn't count as indie despite its vibe. At the very least games like Sifu, Norco, Tunic, and Neon White should be on a list like this (at least a couple of them).
Also, no love for Kirby? Forgotten Land is amazing, a lock in the top 10 for me and a triumph for Nintendo.
Happy to see AI & KOF made the list, but I also really loved Maglam Lord & Rune Factory 5 from this year 🙂.
What’s the game at 0:24?
I don't know how Anno: Mutationem slipped by me but thanks for bringing it to my attention! It looks great.
very japan heavy list
Thanks for the vid
Traingle Strategy, Horizon, Dying Light 2, Pokemon Arceus, Sifu, Sniper Elite 5, TMNT, Trek To Yomi, Tunic, Ghostwire my favourites. I need to play Kirby, Citizen Sleeper, Olli Olli World, Nobody Saves The World, The Quarry, Neon White. Best DLC is Kaito Files, Assassin's Creed Ragnarok and Witch Queen
Wish there was a 'loss leader' Atelier game.
Love the de-saturated anime look and vibes shown in the clips, just not usually into crafting mechanics.
