Of course, compassion and treating everyone humanely is admirable… But what about U.S. citizens who are elderly, disabled, chronically ill, ( some veterans) who can't even afford basic needs? There is a lack of affordable housing, healthcare, etc. for these populations contributing to homelessness and suffering. Programs have been cut, many cities have up to a 7 year waiting period for housing, ill seniors are getting only $25 a month in food stamps, etc. Logic and common sense should dictate policies. I live in El Paso and this is overwhelming our already poor and troubled city.

Here is the difference between Canada and the U.S when it comes to immigration. :.
In Canada, immigrants in Canada are recognized as coming from all parts of the world, Europe, Africa, South Asia, East Asia, South America, etc.
In the U S , only people from Latin America, are considered to be immigrants. People born in other countries, are not immigrants.
There is obviously a difference in attitudes from both countries when it comes to immigration
