Ok so, not trying to spam you with comments, but Dayseeker and Future Static fit so well with everything I have been listening to a lot lately. I feel like they both deserve much larger followings.
I was still exploring a lot of 2021 artists most of the year.
If you haven't listened to anything that I have been listening to a lot lately you would probably enjoy it:
Spiritbox
Sleep Token
Bilmuri
Rain Paris
Thornhill
Chunk! No, Captain Chunk!
Volumes
Bring Me the Horizon
ADTR
And since you like Polyphia:
The Omnific
Sincerely
Intervals
Not sure i’m posting in the right spot, but if you haven’t check out JinJer, picses Is a good one, and congrats to you and the wife. I didn't know you got married. But why would I? I’m not a stalker.

how the 1975 didn’t make it on to this list after releasing arguably their best record to date is absolutely insane to me! please say they at least made it onto the honourable mentions with part of the band or about you
Uh- Demi Lovato's non-binary-
“Sped away in the getaway car” I see what you did there
If "Get Inspired" came out in the Summer, it would be in everybody's top 10. Just watch, that song's gonna grow on you even more.
Pierce the veil is definitely an honorable mention AT LEAST. Emergency Contact is one of my favorite songs by them and PTN is a really fun song, but i like Emergency Contact too much 😂
Kill Or Be Killed?
I really hope to hear John’s reaction to Sza’s SOS which my favorite record this year. An amazing follow up to one of the most successful records by a black female artist
I see that Nimrod 25th anniversary shirt Jon 👀👀
I like how everything MCR makes sounds unique and different from the last yet it sounds like uniquely their style, foundations was just another great example of tgat
I did expect this is why to be on the list
Did he talk about MCR in there?
I would personally have put Matilda way higher since it's one of my all time favourite songs from one of my all time favourite bands also they fucking kill it live

Always impressed with the amount of variety you have in your lists!
The Hellfire Club by Thornhill is easily my favorite track of the year. Lush soundscapes, gorgeous atmosphere with killer guitarwork and an absolutely soaring hook, courtesy of Jacob Charlton's hypnotic and seductive vocal performance!
Some great stuff came out this year from artists known and new to me. Mostly been exploring in the Alternative and Rock lanes, while cranking down on the Nashville / "Country" scene a bit for once. Absolute favorites and most definitive songs for me would probably have to be Sleeping With Sirens' "Grave", 5SOS' "Me Myself & I" and Sheeran's "Welcome To The World".
I thought you were going to include Cassandra by Florence on the list
Great list Jon, I can we have a couple of songs in common!
My songs of the year are as follows (and are listed in no particular order):
Hall of Mirrors – Let’s Eat Grandma
Insect Loop – Let’s Eat Grandma
Leviathan – Everything Everything
Shark Week – Everything Everything

LA Blues – Special Interest

Still the best tradition of the year!

I haven’t listened to a lot of music released this year, but I’m definitely gonna give these songs a listen, and my favorite song from this year is Viva Las Vengeance by p!atd
I'm surprised there's no Big Thief or Jockstrap songs. I feel like Jon would love that Jockstrap album, and love at least a few of the songs on that Big Thief record.
Also very cool to see Walkin so high on the list!
Maggie Rogers’ That’s Where I am is such a fantastic song. When it comes on, I find myself stopping what I’m doing and just lock into it.
