  1. I grew up on a farm I’ve been in the country of in town at the end of the day wildlife is everywhere. I raised you boys of Ameri 20 years I’ve seen the world the best and the worst and at the end of the day wildlife is everywhere. I’ve had chickens I met horses I’ve had it I’m an animal lover at heart go figure in my father is an avid hunter. But like I said at the end of the day lol wildlife is everywhere and wildlife wins. Now being in Colorado for five years I say that and I mean that. I’ve been on both sides of the coins and my neighbors and I wouldn’t say I didn’t experiment but I always recommend my two cents when people are fighting with keeping wildlife out of their fruit trees or whatever it is gardens rabbits. Because honestly I’ve never had a problem and is one reason why versus my neighbors where they would actually ripoff the heads of their chickens and then my chickens somehow always survived. To this day my neighbor their cushions get tore up every year with the squirrels my cushions look beautiful. My parents wiring got completely destroyed in their car no one touches my car except me. Now I will say people spend so much money every year trying to fight fire with fire. And like everything else in life that cannot be done. It might temporality just for a little bit slow down the issues at hand but I promise you next year they’ll be back in the year after that and so on. I always say whatever you’re spending on these contraptions and these get mix and throw some Cheyenne pepper out there and this and that what I’ve been doing for five years successfully almost every day and really have helped others see that in fact wow maybe I should try this and they to have found success. Now we all feed the birds or most of us here where I live in the mountains and I’ve lived in town too I love her we’re in the Colorado area back-and-forth but we have elk right down the road in town so it doesn’t matter where you live the wildlife will always be present and you might think that you’re winning in the situation but you’re not. With the bunnies I have one bunny outback his name is Cooper he’s been in my yard for five years and he eats along with the squirrels and raccoons the fox that occasionally comes through. Now granted raccoons can be kind of crazy especially if you do feed them and I feed them and have been feeding them ever since I had chickens about five years ago. I no longer have chickens but I found that it’s much easier to just feed the birds feed everything else and then before I go to bed I go ahead and throw out the six babies and the one mama what they need. Now granted I only feed them part time so they learn and do not rely on me but they do love my peanuts and they do you know how to open the back door so don’t let fear get in the way like I did when I walked into my living room to see a raccoon standing there waiting for his dinner. But I mean they’re used to a schedule just like everybody else and if I forget or if I’m in town they’re gonna let me know about it. I was away for a week that was the only time everything got destroyed and all my apples got ate off my apple tree. I have pear trees peaches apples I only have an acre of property not very big but I have an herb garden I’ve had everything for five years and I still have everything. I don’t spend the time and money to fence everything in the only time I had secure fencing was when I had chickens but even then if the raccoon wanted to it could go through and it could of killed my chickens but like I told my neighbor I didn’t have it to because it was getting what it wanted which is just food. I’d rather go out and spend money $20 on a bag of food a week that’s roughly with everything that I give the crew it ranges from $30-$35 a week. But they all really well and I make them homemade suet. I can see the comments now oh hell no this ladies not know I really think the people that are trying to fight fire with fire by buying this and putting the netting around the trees like a crazy person those are the ones that find out in the end if the squirrel wants the Apple or the parrot the squirrels going to get it at the end of the day so save your energy save your money and if you’ve tried everything and all else fails definitely go get some bird food black oil sunflower‘s with a little bit of corn in it not the kind with a little millets in it in the wasteful stuff and then get yourself a 12 pound bag of peanuts and Wala you’re good to go I guarantee you what you spend on that in bulk will be cheaper to all the gadgets and sprays and this and that of what you’re going to spend throughout the year trying to corral the bunnies and do this and do that. That is their nature and we like to think that we have control we like to think that we can disrupt it we like to think all of this and for a short period it does make things better but it’s only for a short period they will wait and they will wait until you mess up or you forget or you’re not home and they will come back with a vengeance twice as bad how do you just walk on them to begin with. It’s similar to raising a teenager thankfully I am done with that but I found out real quick I had no control and the more I try to well let me tell you the more resistance was present. Not have us have control none of us so we might as well just embrace it or not as well just look outside and be like wow maybe it’s OK this one time or maybe not and then get all disheveled and try to figure out what to do because I tell you five years ago I stop trying I stop trying and the minute I stop trying is when everything just worked itself out on time and my poor neighbor she loses chickens almost every week I think you’re dumb enough to go buy more maybe next year you’ll actually start being the raccoons and see what I’m talking about. Good luck

  2. I'm really disappointed that you'd recommend a product that you haven't tried yourself, not to mention all the online reviews show those ultrasonic things don't work.

  4. Thanks, but would have been useful to hear a little more about methods two and three, especially since you only discussed three. For instance, you say “chemical” spray. Is it natural ingredients like some of the other sprays that include capsaicin extract, blood meal, garlic, etc? As to ultrasonic, is it waterproof, how is it powered and how long does charge and device last? In any event, I have a few in my house for mice and haven’t seen any significant difference. And the methodical and I believe most reliable source Mark Rober did a fairly recent video about bed bugs and definitively showed ultra sonic devices did not deter them. Here it is:

  5. I was told Irish Spring bars of soap. Take a potato peeler and make peels and crumple the peels up in your hand up and then put it on the plants…they hate the smell. I haven’t tried it yet but going to this week.
