  1. 14:07 In Korea, this movie was advertised as a children's adventure movie. Like Harry Potter or Pirates of the Caribbean. When I was 11, I saw this movie in the theater with my family. And ever since then, the pale man has been my mean dreammate.

  2. Great list. I wasn't expecting much from "Antlers" but was pleasantly surprised. I should have known better, but I didn't realize until I was watching that Jesse Plemons was part of the cast. He's just a wonderful actor.

  3. Sorry but the Velociraptor was WAY scarier since they COULD OPEN FREAKING DOORS and calculate their attacks ugh nope! plus they weren't accurate to history so it made them even more horrifying making people think those things existed

  4. 0:39 the crooked man looks similar to Hollowghast (hollows) and Slender Man, in Fox news it appears with wings and is mistaken as an angel. 5:54 hybrids 6:56 Nosferatu or elves 7:38 hybrids again 8:25 shadows projected by laser beams, it's ultimate WIFI, satellite hi-tech!

  5. What an excellent list. Though the one who creeped me out the most maybe aren't considered monsters, that they aren't mentioned here: that one girl crawling out of a television in The Ring, first time I saw it. And the Weeping Angels from Doctor Who.

  6. Despite I love the list I wouldn't consider the tyrannosaur nor Jaws to be monsters. Designed by humans in their franchises (Jaws is cloned as well, right, or is that fan-fiction?) they simply follow their own nature for safety, escape, and food.

  7. Nobody ever thought Blair Witch was real… correct yourself. It was also a cheap and poorly done film. An absolute embarrassment to film. Couldn't even get the ambulance right. They tried way too hard to make a voice entirely based on ambiance and ended up making the greatest failure of a horror movie instead. I haven't seen the second one, but the first movie was so poorly done. It was dog shit even back then, and that's saying something considering movies from that era weren't hard to make at least somewhat decent. This isn't even a "you're just used to newer technology" opinion, it's a view I (alomg with MANY others worldwide) have shared since the movie first released. The unpopular opinion would be that the movie is anything over a 3/10. I personally didn't like the paranormal activity series but I'll at least admit it's a solid 7 overall (they did great making the movies, it's just not what I'm into… that's a fair rating btw, my biased rating gives the series a 4).

  8. i found the lipstick demon silly, and the ending of insidious totally blew it, in my opinion. most of what's on here is stuff i ADORE the design of, because they're creepy, but they don't scare me. the crooked man is the only reason i watched the conjuring 2, moder is one of my top five favorite movie monsters ever, as is 2017 pennywise, and the bear from annihilation is an inspiration to me. but i'm also deeply depressed/apathetic and don't have proper fear responses. when something does give me the creeps, i usually beat the source material to death trying to figure out WHY it gives me the creeps, and am fascinated by my own reaction. i was scared of everything as a kid; there are many movies i didn't see until my 20s, including, notably, the animated sleeping beauty, because i saw a portion as a child and it gave me nightmares at the time. now, i can watch most anything and sleep just fine. as a concept, though, the thing should be number one, always.

  9. 5:55 I love how this thing looks like it’s praying when it roars. It kinda cements the idea that it’s a god (even if it’s an evil one) and is meant to be worshiped. It’s almost like it’s saying “bow to me”

  10. 4:58 Don't forget the very loud sound they suddenly blast you with from complete silence… It has the same effect as having a firecracker go off next to you. You can't help but flinch. And then you link it to the image. It's a basic but effective jumpscare. If you like jumpscares, that one is very good.

Edit: For comparison, mute the movie at that part and see if you still are that scared.

  11. The fact you gave credit of Pennywise's portrail to Bill Skarsgrad when he was just riding Tim Curry's coattails is asinine. Curry as Pennywise will always be far and away better than Skarsgard. And Skarsgard did a very good job. But it was a good job copying someone else's original portrail.
