  1. Like most cold blooded animals, they keep growing as they age. So the larger they are the older they are likely to be. According to a copy of National Geographic I read I think in the Late 70's, it was when a major road was being built through the Amazon jungle, a giant snake was accidentally killed by a large bulldozer. Authorities found three local native's bodies in its stomach and it measured, I believe, 77 feet in length. The company doing the construction work said that they were keeping an eye out for the snakes mate seen in the same area and estimated to be around 88 feet long. Can anyone from National Geographic confirm that story?

  2. When I was young, growing up in Los Gatos, CA, I saw a Reticulated Python on my walk home one day. It appeared to be over 20 ft long. It was on a tree, hanging down over the private road that I was walking up to get home. It was a remote area of the Santa Cruz mountains.
Un benonced to me, years before we moved there, a large Python had escaped a room size cage in an area called Redwood Estates, about 2 miles away, across Moody Gulch. I had hiked a lot of this area exploring everywhere I felt safe. I only saw the snake that one time.
In 1984, right before we moved away, I drove up to see my old house and maybe visit with some of the neighbors with my new wife. We stopped on the road within sight of my house when we stopped to talk to my next-door neighbor. He stated that just a year before then, he ran over that huge snake with his old Army jeep, right where we were. He told me about strange disappearances of livestock and pet dogs. Not very often, but often enough with little if any trace of them. We did have mountain lions and wild ferral dogs that would sometimes get into livestock, mostly chicken coupes and sheep pens. Snakes inhabit most places on earth, except the poles. In central California, winters were wet and cold. Even freezes and snow could happen, but there are plenty of places for such large snakes to den-up for the cold months. Food was plentiful, water in every canyon, lush vegetation, and good cover. If that snake could be there, then I believe that it is possible for a Titanoboa that could still be surviving in the Amazon. It really isn't far-fetched at all.

  3. They are out there. And proof of the existence is also out there, and has been for a long time. Between the exploration and research companies, cia, NASA, most details about our planet are in a file some place. We could quit guessing, and hire a team of grade school nerds, and just hack the computers. And we would have it all.
