So many good games already!!!!! I will watch every single video… i can’t wait for the next episode 😊
I played nemesis once and also had a pretty bad time. Games kind of boring to me.
can I ask you a question? NO….
Meg you're amazing!
you guys should have a tie or something for "oh crap i forgot X"
Love Santorini it's one of my favorite games.
I really want bus that game looks so fun.
How am I just noticing Clash of Cultures in the back…. Where is the review!!!
Alex, if you like Air, Land & Sea try Blue Moon (or Blue Moon Legends) by Reiner Knizia ;). This is also a game with withdrawals from battles, but captured within one match ;).
Well, Akropolis was a cross over – of games that should have made the top 100 =D
54:10 I lost it at "Powers and Abilities! Powers and Abilities!"
Could we also add last year's format of including a high level recap of the group, i.e. how many new games, biggest drop from prior year, highest climber, etc?
Inis is a top 20 game, not top 80. Fantastic game.
Ty for the commedy!
Great seeing Empyreal getting some love. The rules are very clear and straightforward.
100% agree with Devin on Libertalia. At two, it's a great strategic mindgame. At 3 or more it turns into random chaos. Often times feels like your choice doesn't matter as anything can and will happen when the cards come out.
1:07:03 I almost spit my drink.
Has anyone compiled a list of all of the games M/A/D have committed to playing “after this”? If not, can someone get on that?
Here is another way to think about expansions: It's fine if an expansion feels required as long as the base game is enjoyable by itself as the introduction and first set of games for the player. In other words, expansions to keep the game interesting for those who are already into the game is a good thing. That's how you are able to market the game to the widest base audience both in cost and complexity but open it up for those who desire more to their games.
100% with Alex on Viticulture. GREAT game by itself, made even better with Tuscany expansion.
Another great video! Out of this whole list, I've played 6 Nimmt, Santorini, Codenames (Duet only), Tranquility, Azul, Libertalia, and Viticulture. 100% agree with Meg's point that I shouldn't need an expansion to make a game good. If a game isn't good on its own, I won't bother investing in expansions. I've also never played with Tuscany (own it but have never felt a need to open it) and think Viticulture is a solid game. Not my favorite worker placement, but one I enjoy playing. Figuring out I should sell fields was also a turning point for me!
Back again for my second analysis of games I've played (P), games I own (O), and game I want to play (W) compared to the games the hosts mention. Another big round for Devin and Prof. Meg, Alex sadly had one match with Bus (O); I have and idea maybe our numbers will rise as we get 60 and onward? Prof. Meg takes this segment with 5 total connections, one of which is the first (W) and that was Unmatched; wouldn't care to own it, just want to play a few characters and try out different styles. Continuing with her list, Boss Monster was for me too a very early game into the hobby; and Meg, you didn't mention the coolest part about Empyreal in that you use "magic" and you build your train with special powers and the combos are sweet, neat game. Devin and I landed 4 matches and add another game to our play list Dev, Santorini boy howdy I love the game (in my top 10), and Dev you most definitely need to use the god powers!! A buddy and I have played a marathon game where we divide all the god powers into two decks and we draw from the top and have to use that god (as long as the rules don't say we can't) and if you win you capture the op's god card, and see how many you have at the end. I've also matched the gods based on similar types of power and opposite powers to see if those games would be an interesting challenge. Overall Devin has a slight lead with 9 total matches, Prof. Meg close behind at 8, and Alex…3. Devin leads the (O) category with 5, Prof. Meg leads the (P) category with 5 and the (W) category with 1.
The Nemesis "semi-cooperative" mode is really competitive. Outside of a couple goal choices, that the player chooses, there's nothing the players have to accomplish together. It's simply a competitive game where more than one person can win.
It would literally only take 30-45 minutes to quickly grab two pictures of each game of the 30 games (a box shot and one of the game on the table) and throw them over the beginning of each games discussion and yet it would improve the video soooo much. Having to look up games to get a visual in the middle of the videos is really tedious. Channels like the the dice tower have even more games to cover (I know they’re a bigger channel) and The brothers Murph (smaller channel) do a wonderful job giving you a better showing of the games and make it more enjoyable.
LOV everything you all do, but could you guys add thumnails or pictures of the games you talk about. Please.
Call me visual but just hearing the name of the game without seeing a pic of either the box or the setup really takes away from these lists for me.
I love the chemistry and banter you 3 have. I think you all make an amazing team and I can’t wait to watch the remainder of these videos and any others that have all 3 of you.
I loved that clear 'no' from Meg at the beginning; was actually laughing out loud!
Video feedback. Good video would have benefited from pictures of titles. Easier to follow in my opinion.
Thank you for putting 2022 Edition in the title. That helps when looking at videos over the years.
Viticulture ee is fantastic. Tuscany adds some great features that help to fully realize the game’s potential without adding much complexity. It isn’t essential to have a good experience. However, it adds so much with little drawback that I wouldn’t consider ever not playing with Tuscany. (Unless I was playing someone else’s copy and they didn’t have it.)
I loved the Tranquility outtake! But where was the out take for this one 🙁 😂
thumbs up. as always moar Meg.
“2 people play Dune??”🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
You can add other peoples collections in their entirety on Pubmeeple, Devon
With lcgs, I feel like what's fun about the content "dlc" is the everchanging meta. Not unlike when a new character comes out in a fighting game. Everyone needs to learn how to play AS the new stuff, or play AGAINST the new stuff.
