Top 10 Worst Level 8 Monsters of All Time

In the game of Yu-Gi-Oh, monster power is mapped by levels on a sliding scale. Once you get above 5, high level monsters start requiring a tribute to normal summon, and after 7, they start requiring two. Level 8’s are a common threshold for monsters we’d consider bosses, like Blue-Eyes White Dragon, Galaxy-Eyes Photon Dragon, Valkyrion the Magna Warrior, and a bunch more (XYZ-Dragon Cannon, Magician of Black Chaos, Stardust Dragon). But not all level 8’s are as good as their level implies. Actually, a lot of them are quite bad, which is where this list comes in.

  1. Metazoa maybe climbs a few ranks. Play Zoa in a Kashtira Deck they have a spell that you can normal summon level 7 without tributes. The right opening hand it is a beat stick on turn 1 at least. Clunks the deck with a Garret at level 8 granted. But is it a way that can make it from bad to gimmick bad. Is it good no, is is possible yes, is it for someone who likes to take bad cards and try to make it better yes that's about it.

  2. Unpopular opinion here: I think the Vanilla Elemental heroes should be retrained as pendulum monsters. Considering how most pendulum monster pairs look, they’d fit perfectly into it. On top of that, these retrained monsters should have effects and while I’m thinking that their effects should be based off of their spell and trap specific cards, making it based around fusion/contact fusion could work too. Or, maybe add both? Idk, just throwing out ideas at this point

  3. I remember getting Zoa, Metalzoa, and Goblin Fan from the Falsebound Kingdom promo (great game by the way, everyone should play it). Soon as I saw what Metalmorph does, I wondered why even equip Zoa or Red-Eyes with it, especially once Twin Sword Marauder came out
