Bro how is Not Like Us not on there
I am surprised that I like "Birds of a Feather" because it's way too mellow for any mood I might ever be in.
Not one I would wright home about. Still waiting for a genius to surface…
Not really a fan of Billie Eilish, but that song is so nice! First time hearing it.
First time I heard Espresso was the rock cover by Rain Paris. I love Rain Paris's covers!!! The original of Espresso is also great.
“We go back to the 70’s…” so they figured that out at least.
Women are obviously the influencers of this top 10 list. Damn I miss rock'n'roll 😢
Saying that Cruel Summer doesn't have a bridge when its bridge is literally the highlight of the song 💀 "he looks up grinning like a devil" is literally the best part of the song, which is in the bridge section
Rick tells his audience, “Emerson, Lake & Palmer, you don’t know who that is.” 😅
Unlistenable. I can’t get past the sterile clinical sound, much less the half assed lyrics. Taylor Swift is today’s Garth Brooks. And they both have the same bra size.
I know none of these songs, and I never eard any of them.
We got Rick reacting to himself before GTA6
Half of this video is him agreeing with himself and complimenting his own tan. I love it 😭
I agree besides Billie. Kinda boring. Our song: Caek and Minko – Big Feelings should have been on here. Can’t wait until you review us! We love you.
The irony in saying song don’t have bridges anymore while listening to Cruel Summer 🥲
Saving 1 or 2, everything is a disaster. The musical quality has gone down a lot. 🤦♂️ I agree that many have that 80s vibe but in a silly, superficial and commercial way. The Cure example (7:45) is perfect, they are just "nice" eighties gingles but they have no mystery or real depth.
You can tell that the musicians don't really have a real musical culture of the 80s or another decade, and they only have knowledge of 4 commercial things and make a rather hollow imitation.
Sounds like half of these were produced by Danger Mouse 15 years ago
white horse #1 melody
Would be cool if you could hit the AAA charts.
Just can't stand pop music there's no gut wrenching guitars and some heavy bass
This might be the most optimist I've ever seen Rick!
Can you breakdown Sheena Easton's Sugar Walls with Sheena please?
Reactception
awaiting the reaction video to Rick's reaction video to his reaction video.
Those that can, usually do. The rest are critics. Don't let 'em get to you, Rick. Love your channel. So much valuable music knowledge shared here. Happy New Year!
Sorry but those song are boring
Thank god for Rick. Calls out all the BS in the music industry for what it is and treats it fair when it deserves it.
Bro's voice on second place sounds so irritating for me. Not a bad song but I just can't stand this one anymore
I like Bruno Mars, but I don't like a lot of his music. That song is OK. Boring, IMHO. Oddly, Mars' elocution is quite poor which is frustrating. And I don't like Lady Gaga. She can sing – no doubt about that, but I really dislike her whole schtick and her music makes me want to vomit 🤮
When I heard The Weeknd's demo EP, I thought it was awesome and was so excited for more.
Unfortunately, I've not liked anything else that I've heard. Again, he can sing – he has an excellent voice. But why are all his songs so ballady and poppy? I feel like he sold out in order to reach a wider audience. And I guess it worked!
"There's no such thing as selling out anymore, man. I mean, nowadays, if you don't sell out, people will wonder if nobody asked you to."
Connor4Real aka Andy Samburg from "Popstar: Never Stop Never Stopping".
Is Taylor Swift's "Cruel summer" better than Bananarama's? (Theirs has a bridge, although it's an instrumental one.) We also had a "Cool summer" this year (Special EFX). I say both of these this year had Bananarama on their minds.
some of yall in the comments pmo with all your complaining, its really not as serious you're making it. "nothing worth listening to" "super dull" "unimaginative" okay how about you go and make a song #1 in the WORLD and I'll maybe hear you out. Truth is many of these songs ARE in fact filled with talent, imagination, and soul. If you can't see it then you might need to open your perspective a little more than to whatever bullshit 60s music youre married to.
Bruno Mars really has a feel for 70's Soul and R&B.
the whole of billie eilishs new album and espresso should’ve been the whole list, and i’m almost exclusively a Beatles guy.
That's a deadly SG!!!
Now you gotta do a reaction to this reaction of your first reaction
Bruno and Lady Gaga, maybe but the rest of it is crap.
I had a student ask to learn Espresso and Please Please Please recently, both surprisingly good, but Please Please Please is a much better song imo, better melody and chords and a nice key change in there, and then key change back into the chorus.
I found that I don't have Rick's enthusiasm for the generic, breathy, no emotion, no depth, no power little girl singing voices that were popular in 2024. The guys are worth listening to. Give me Bruno Mars, Hozier, Teddy Swims.
Yes Rick, I do know who Emerson, Lake, and Palmer is. That's how damn old I am. Btw nice white SG you're holding.
What, no more Harry Styles?!?😂🤣😂
We are in desperate need of a music revolution. A Grunge. A New Wave, An Alternative. Nothing exciting since the 90’s. I’m not that old.
I agree with 10 and 3rd possitions…
Im starting to get the feeling that Rick might now like Taylor Swift.
Lmao, there is a bridge on that song plus it's written by Taylor swift and 1 other person, she apparently also co produced it.
While not my usual taste, the song's solid.
I Chuckled when he said Emerson, Lake and Palmer, you don't know who that is. I now them way more than I know who the weekend is lol.
Die with a smile is probably best song of the decade so far, trouble it has been overplayed
Easily….Waiting for Stevie by Pearl Jam…the BEST rock&roll song for far in the 2024…the power bass line, the guitar chords, the drums, Eddie's Melody voice and Mcready's guitar solo…rock&roll still Alive men
I liked a lot of it until the Autotuned nightmare at around 9:30. The "guitars" are worth investigating on some of them, it's worryingly easy just to stick sampled riffs in tracks now. I agree on the production, why do vocals have to be so processed and 'sit' on the music? They need to be in the music.
