In today’s video, we’re checking out some Monster Taming games that I believe will have a major impact on the genre as a whole.

When will coromon android come?
biggest thing I feel all these games need is to market more. so people outside of the monster taming community can find out about these games 😅
Agree with Roblox but with it being PC only is a big downside (I realise Roblox exists on Xbox but Loomian Legacy does not as won't load)
I'm incredibly hyped for DokeV and Pal World personally and think those have the biggest chance to shake the entire genre.
Also going to guess that Palworld will be on this list so encourage players to try Craftopia which is like Palworlds Baby and as you go through the Ages you unlock more things. If i had to pick a genre it would be RPG/Minecraft but with a Pet Management Machine, monsters you capture can be brainwashed to follow your orders blindly and even fight for you.
can't wait for Temtem in September and then Casette Beasts when it launches in Game Pass, Also Coromon on Switch
“I think most of us are early 20s”
sweats nervously in early 30s
I hardly believe that Temtem will take the Mon genre to new heights. All they focus on is combat and they stole the twist from Pokémon Brick Bronze
The problem with Digimon is there over convoluted evolutions, that and the fact that its games genre are always at random.
There isn't a definitive Digimon gameplay.
Definitely agree with your take on Roblox.
With Skyclimbers, Kindred Fates, DokeV, and Palworld I think it could help or hurt the genre depending on how good they actually turn out to be and if they are able to deliver on some big promises.
I'm frankly not that interested in DQ Treasures, but I see your point.
I don't really see EvoCreo2 making that big of a splash but I'm excited for it.
Cassette Beasts definitely looks like it might make a big splash.
Gym Leader Ed I'm so excited for TemTem to come on the Nintendo Switch. I've been wanting the game to come to the switch for a very long time.
Doodle world video 👀
Digimon has been extremely good at shaking the boat lately. Their willingness to try anything that sticks for the genre really helps their case.
Hmm some pass game I want to return or their system to come back are Fossil Fighter, Monster Racer and Jade Cacoon but I have only played the 2ed Jade Cacoon and started a rom of the first one but I think the combat and fusion system in 2 would be nice to see. It's one of those wheel combat well this time a square where you can only have a type of monster on one side fire on one side earth another and so on but their a fusion breeding you can do where you can combine two monster so I'll be a hybrid so than you have fire &earth than you can put them in the corner to be used in both fire&earth side probably I don't remember what elements is where but ya bring something like that back might be fun. Monster racer was fun Gba? Where well you raced monster each where good in a terrain and had their own special attack like one could just dash through another can teleport some way. You tame other monsters during a race by shooting hearts at them while your facing. You could be a jerk and just use the heart to probably stun them so you can take the lead lol but it was fun. You go around the world to race in different tournaments while catching more monster. they have I think something like coromon potent where you can catch a rare color of monsters. I don't fully remember much like if they were strong I think it was like their a water starter who now can run in lava but ya it was very fun. So just a few monster Taming games I played when I was younger. Some of the final fantasy games are monster Taming you get new Job classes to use heehee.
I don't know if this will actually wind up being a big deal, but I'm going to say an obvious game for hopefully not an obvious reason. Obviously anytime a Pokemon game comes out it makes waves for good or bad reasons. But I think Pokemon making an attempt at some kind of co-op game play outside of battling or the really wonky wild area could be a huge deal. If it's good, it's going to be great and we'll probably see more of it in indie titles. If it's mediocre to bad we'll see indie devs saying "we can do better". I know other games in the genre are also doing co-op, I mean Tem-Tem is an MMO, but when the giant in the genre tries something it does tend to ripple.
Morning👋
I would’ve swapped around Digimon Story for Cassette Beasts, fusion in a Monster taming game has rarely been done outside of Digimon & Persona.
"The majority of us are early twenties"
Way to make me feel old! Pokémon and Digimon, two twenty-five year old franchises, came around to Ireland when I was seven…
I think you're vastly overrating coromon. The things this game did, it did pretty well. But what it actually did, wasn't anything new or innovative.
Heck, the mechanics are 1:1 copied from pokémon to the point even some values were exactly the same, at this point it's a Pokémon Reskin, with the exception of boss battles.
I don't know what Coromon 2 will have in stock, but if there won't be any signifiant changes, it will simply make an impact as a pokélike game.
Now yes, it could be huge with the mobile player base, but I think putting it that high is misplaced when compared to a truly unique concept like cassette beasts, which I hope will storm the outside market aswell.
On this list kindred fates, sky climbers and cassette beasts are the new games I’m looking forward to obviously Nexomon 3 and Coromon 2 will be very hype when they get released
I'm really curious, what's the game shown at 0:20 ?
on the topic of localization, I do hope that it starts happening more often, especially with Medabots games, there are so few Medabot games localized to the west and it's such a shame we never got the recent ones
So watched this video earlier and came back because of a weird thought I can't help having…
Digimon probably has the most stupid amount of weight on it of almost any gaming franchise at the moment:
Mon-RPG fans are looking to it with the hopes it will help the genre boom beyond Pokémon's shadow again, as it first did a long time ago.
V-Pet fans are looking to it with the hopes that will continue to preserve and push its responsible as arguably the only meaningfully ongoing console V-Pet.
Personally, games that don't let me control the monster directly (be it in action-based or turn-based) lose a lot of fun factor. As for my most anticipated games of the genre are cassette beasts and ova magica. They look really awesome.
I like the take and I think every monster taming game has its features really its up to you the player which one will impact you
Dokev and Dragon Quest Treasures has potential to be awesome Monster Taming games! And definitely looking to Coromon as well. Also EvoCreo 1 and 2 as I said before they should release on all consoles.
Island of Winds looks like it's going to be something new for the genre with its ultra realistic graphics. Also looking forward to Battle Fishing Masters with its 150 marine robot monsters. Certainly something fresh around the block.
Huge rip to Temtem tbh, I feel like itll stay kinda small and end up with a cult following more than anything. Most of the hype surrounding the game is already gone unfortunately, but I suppose thats what happens when a game is in early access for 3 years and the most notorious thing surrounding the game are the insane amount of false bans.
Great video as always and I'm loving just how many, as well of the variaty, of monster taming games there are now. Super looking forward to Untamed isles
Next time, if possible please put game name text somewhere on the screen while you are talking about the game or put the name of those games on the description. It would be appreciated for someone who don't know how to the spell the game name but want to take a look at the game by themselves.
Am I the only one that wished that pokemon did the same thing as digimon where every single creature has a unique signature attack with a cool custom animation, idk might just be me that likes things like that
As fun as Monster Sanctuary was, I still have to wait for what feels like my "true hits"
1:28 Yep didn't wanted to say it before, but i had to think once you do like kinda everything. It still feels like someone would get angry about that even if I mean no offense. I just can be focused on these things, I don't mean to be negativ (it might be accidential) , just thought I mention it here in chase you rember me.^^
4:13 I just wish it would look better.
When I forget that I was dissapointed by DOKIV, I might give it a chance once I notice it's out.
I just hope I figure out what PC I should use, I don't assume those internet sites I got so far are super good if you have no real knowledge.
Maybe one day I give Nexomon a chance, some designs win me over a little bit everytime, but the rest doesn't fully click.
Still waiting for
Pal World, Necromancer's Gift, Eternal Exodus, Pry Into the Void
Anode Heart, Kindred Fates, Cassette Beasts.
I also still wait for more info on Chainmonsters, New Town Needs Tamer and Essentures.
That's number 1? Well, it is true that we all have our own opinions, so I'll just leave it at that.
Say, um, did I already tell you I've been wanting to make my own Mon game?
The hype for Casette Beasts,Kindred fates and Palworld is REAL!
I think you’re doing an awesome job at discussing monster taming games! I’ve actually learned about a lot of new games from watching your videos. There is so much more to play than just Pokémon or Digimon haha
perhaps some time stamps would be nice
I was wondering if there is any Christian friendly alternatives of Pokémon? Just no ghost, psychics, magic or fairies. I’ve only seen anitons and ooblets as the only options
Just a little feedback, it would be nice to leave the name of games up on screen throughout their section. I know sometimes I'm just kind of listening and a game will grab my attention and I'll want to look into it but will be like, "wait what was the name of this game again?" and have to look back in the video for the title. Just a little suggestion, I don't know how much more work that would involve. Thank you for these videos, though! I really enjoy them!
I am happy to Digimon at the top of the list. I agree that if done right Digimon could be amazing. Hopefully story will be an updated advanced version that we saw on DS. If they made it real time battling to represent next gen games Digimon would change monster taming forever.
Can't wait!
Cassette Beast!!!
Can't wait for kindred fates release
i feel like when they bring more to the battle system of nexomon, they should make a multiplayer 1v1
5:00–5:03 that…..doesn't make any sense to me since we get a lot monster tamer games from Japan here in the west apart from Pokemon
they still gives us Digimon, Yu-Gi-Oh, Bakugan, etc.
I really don't understand what you meant by that statement
