That's weird, There's a story I heard that Al gets permission from all the artists before doing a parody.
The first time I saw Blunt sing that song, I got really into that video beause he was stripping.. I was like, "Oooh!" Can you imagine how dissapointed I was when he didn't to the full monty? Then the jump at the end….I was like, "I bet that hurt!"
Imitation is the best form of flattery. For those snobbish "artists" that get upset, just go away.
Love weird Al. Cheering me up right now ππ
AL? He's a nice boy, seems perfectly normal to me.
I LOVE Weird Al β€ Been a huge fan of him ever since I discovered him when he made "Like A Surgeon". Also I find the movie "UHF" hilarious and wish Al will make more movies.
I am so thrilled about all the wonderful comments in here about Weird Al, so many of witch is words taken right out of my mouth! π
Click bait
Been listening to Weird Al since the 80s. Very very entertaining guy. His parodying is 2nd to nobody.
Am I the only one whi clicked this video expecting Artificial Intelligence?
Trash
You forgot WA's hilarious version of "I Want It That Way" by Backstreet Boys, called "eBay" π
"You're listening to 102.5 Food Truck radio; where we only play Weird Al."
"As you should."
I am dying of laughter seeing Weird Al dressed has Lady Gaga
ASSHOLE SUN mow the the lawn…and put your clothes awayπβ€πβ€ππ
It's funny that Coolio got mad, because everything he did was taken from other artists. None of it was even his.
Some random thoughts:
IMO the best reaction was from Ray Manzarek of The Doors; he played the keyboard track for "…Craigslist…" which is only appropriate, since the video for "…Craigslist…" is arguably one of the best tributes to The Doors that you'll find. The video combines many, many Doors motifs, with a more-than-credible impression of Jim Morrison by Al.
Speaking of Weird Al parodies that became tributes, that's what "…Smells Like Nirvana…" has become over time, in no small part because Al would play a short tribute to Kurt Cobain during the concerts that followed Kurt's death.
"…Dare to be Stupid…" of all of Al's parodies, this is the one that could have been played lyric-for-lyric, note-for-note, by the original artist, and it would have worked!
BAD HAIR DAY will be my center until I die!
2:59 that's not a parody
shows you who the real G's are
The smart people get on board with Weird Al immediately because they realize what an honor it is to have their song parodied by the greatest parody artist who ever lived. The dumb ones pitch a fit… then eat their words years later.
Your not a real Artist till Weird Al does a parody of you
