Top 10 Cards That Bounce Your Opponent's Cards (Bounce = Return to the hand)

Effects that return cards to the hand from the field, graveyard, or even the banished zones are often referred to as “Bounce” effects. Bouncing works both ways, as many cards can bounce your opponent’s cards, yours, or both. Today we’ll be rating the top 10 bounce effects for returning your opponent’s cards to the hand, since that’s very different from cards that can return other cards you own to the hand. You might want to keep an eye out for those kinds of cards in the near future (Firewall Dragon). Anyways, let’s get started!

  1. BorrelEND can still be hit by Spell and Trap effects, BorreLOAD is the one with full targeting protection. That and its ability to steal monsters without targeting as a way to remove them was why it still sees stints of usage in the OCG whenever I:P Avramax becomes a popular Link climbing setup. Its ability to lower Attack also can't be negated so it can always beat over Apollousa as well if you can get to one with it out, though that's easier said than done.

  2. I have a zombie card that's helped out. Kasha sends all monsters in the fiel back into the deck and attack equals the number of original zombies in attack mode that got shuffled back into the deck

  3. Re Dracoback and adventure engine: If you use Illegal Knight (instead of Gryphon Rider) to bounce two cards on their turn, then they pass without removing the illegal knight, you can Dracoback to add it back to your own hand, then special summon it again immediately to loop the resource. You basically get two bounces per their turn instead of one bounce per your turn.

  4. Kelbek's surprise bounce effect is honestly pretty nutty when you think about the fact that most Fusion and Ritual Spells fulfill its requirement by themselves, meaning it can potentially cripple a number of boss monsters in those strategies. And being able to use it proactively if you run any other kind of 2 sided milling or use a hand ripping card is another plus(and if you're using hand ripping cards that means you have ways of removing stuff bounced specifically to the hand).

  5. Odd-Eyes Vortex Dragon missed? Sure it's bounce is a bit restrictive, a face-up attack monster your opponent controls but that's still the most common bounce modernly. It also has a really powerful omni-negate that is easy to use in a pendulum deck where it'd be native to. It's quite easy to bring out if you get 2 level 7s and make absolute then link it off, or Odd-Eyes dissolver can fusion summon it from the field or pendulum zone, it also has respectable stats at 2500/3000. Much better then Alpha imo since it's usually restricted to going second, Vortex can still be used as a piece of an end-board.

  6. I recently picked up a play set of secret rare compulsory evacuation device. It looks beautiful in that rarity. And honestly I think it’s still a pretty awesome card even today.

  7. It is way too reactionary to say that Tearlament is the best deck ever. There are plenty of decks that actually have an advantageous matchup against the deck, even at full power before the bans. The problem is that those decks had horrible matchups against the other dominant decks like Spright so they wouldn't see much competitive play in an arena like the TCG where you have to win tournaments.

Tearlament won't be anywhere near as dominant in a format like Master Duel where there is so much variety and most things are best of one. It is ironic how much Spright gatekept the bad matchups away from Tearlament.

  8. no amazing dragon, sadge, it's always fun playing punk against floodgate deck, summon a level 8 + shirakusai, opponent place 5 trap down, you bounce all 5 during end phase so he can't activate them cause it's his turn and he can't replace them cause it's end phase

  9. I love bouncing an extra deck monster. Not only is it off the field but since it didn’t go to the graveyard you might as well say the resources for it were throughly wasted
