Top 10 Best Rank 2 Monsters of All Time

The Rank 2 pool contains a host of strong monsters, however, historically the pool has been held back because very few strategies were capable of committing enough Level 2 bodies to the board to commit to a Rank 2.

Fortunately, with the introduction of Spright, Melffy and other modern strategies, the Rank 2 pool has seen a lot more use and has allowed for these incredibly strong monsters to shine.

So today we’re going to be looking at the Best Rank 2 Monsters in the game, what they do, and why they’re seeing competitive play.

  1. No Sandayu? This is my favorit rank-2 Xyz in the game.
    .
Anyway, you cannot boost any Paleo Xyz with Cat Shark, because Paleo is unaffected by monster effect, including yours. I try to boost Paleo Xyz once in MD, and I'm looks stupid because it can't.

  2. The TREAT TOAD was way ahead of its time. Being able to not just negate cards but also STEAL them with its effect was insane. And it could even pull a Pankratops and use itself as a tribute target for that effect to avoid targeted negation. The soft once per turn was a bit difficult to abuse at limit 1 but the potential was always there with the existence of revival traps, and the ability to return itself to the extra deck as a target for its floating effect that "returns to hand"(similar to how DPE could choose to revive itself OR any other Destiny HERO monster), allowing you to make another one right away if you have the required materials on the field already. It also has a Standby Phase effect to spawn more frogs from the deck to make doing that easier, especially if you can set up a Dupe Lock beforehand.
