Iβve been thinking about some of my favorite opening scenes in films. Iβve seen plenty of lists of the all-time best title sequences, but surprisingly I havenβt found any that talk about the best scenes that come BEFORE the credits, so here are my Top 10!

I find the pre-title sequence of The Cube to be very intriguing in setting the tone of the film without any words. Definitely a movie to check out if you havenβt seen it.
Bram Stoker's Dracula is probably my fave, it's pretty amazing
Don't be a fool, John. From dusk till dawn has some great lines.
Bond could easily be all 10, and that wouldn't be a bad thing. Casino Royale was so badass.
Mission Impossible!
Drive
George Lucas had problems with the guilds because he wanted his name on the beginning, with the LucasFilm card, and nobody else's name.
RRR
I feel Transformers: The Movie is up there among the best with the introduction of Unicron.
The Mummy (1999) and Van Helsing (2004) have amazing openings, as well as X-Men Apocalypse.
I still remember seeing TMNT in theaters, and the entire theater went nuts when that logo came on the screen and Leo jumped out. It was great!
Terminator 2: Judgement Day.
The visual effects, even by todays standards are phenomenal here, as we see one of the bleakest futures imaginable. Skeletons everywhere, everything is burned out. And Sarah Conners narrative is so memorable: "3 Billion human lives ended on August 29th 1997, the survivors called it Judgement Day. They lived only to face a new nightmare: A war against the machines" Cue to T-800 exoskeleton with its terrifying skull look, building up to a warzone that looks unsurvivable."
No big lebowski huh? Smh
The Cabin in the Woods. That one always stood out to me as it COMPLETELY goes against anything the viewer might have been expecting the movie to be like.
Man that Ghostbusters opening is still one of the best openings
Bond, James Bond!
Scream !?
Harry and the Hendersons, Flight of the Navigator, TMNT2
Casino Royale is my pick
I like the beginning of Three Kings. Everyone just standing around and Marky Mark canβt get a straight answer about the ROE.
Gotta ask… Are we doing any AVGN this year?
Dumb and Dumber is my personal favourite π
The departed has to be one of the longest pre title sequence
Goodfellas…
Hey James I have an idea for a game In the Avon series, I own a retron and with that I have a 500 in one nes game cartridge and on that I found mario 10, mario 14, and 16. Iβm not sure if these games were official but I think you should check them out. Another game idea I have is the evil within as that was a survival horror game that was hated on a bit.
My favorite pre-title sequence was in quantum of solace.
SUPER TROOPERS
The Two Towers has one of favorite opening scenes! Believe that is before the title card, too!
Pixar's Brave had an amazing pre-title scene in my opinion.
Terminator 2! The intro uses an INSANE amount of special FX. It's seriously unbelievable how layered it is, Cameron was a madman.
Hey James : Dracula (Coppola), Wild Wild West, and Exorcist (1).
I would look at "Star Flash Gordon Wars" on YouTube . It may have given George Lucas some inspiration on his Star Wars opening "Crawl" sequences on this beloved franchise.
what about '''drive'' opening credits scene
Trainspotting
Mad Max – Fury Road
Bone Tomahawk
Tropic Thunder
I dont know if im mistaken because I cant check right now but Tenacious D, Hellrsiser and Braindead could be worth talking about.
1986 The Transformers The Movie is a awesome intro of Unicron ππ€
Cabin in the Woods for me. The title also doubles as a jump scare!
James review Max Payne 3
Carpathian Ridge in Donnie Darko.
I feel like Casino Royal (2006) should've been on this list
The way James picks up his gun the bad guy gets up and is about to shoot him but then James turns around right away and shoots him then the badass music begins just as the opening title sequence begins is pretty cool the way he turns around and shoots the bad guy is just awesome π.
Definitely cabin in the woods.
One Word: GOLDMEMBER
I love lord of war. Great opening that tells its own story, fantastic visuals and really gets you ready for this type of move and Main character in it
