Tony Abbott refutes idea opposing the Voice would be ‘disrespectful’

Former prime minister Tony Abbott has refuted the idea that opposing the Voice to Parliament would be “disrespectful” to Indigenous Australians.

“Not true,” he told Sky News host James Morrow.

“Someone like Jacinta Price, someone like Warren Mundine … would not be speaking out against this Voice if to say no to the Voice would somehow be disrespectful to their own people.”

  1. For decades we have been ridding our institutions of racism, yet the voice will enshrine racism into our constitution! Bestowing benefit to one race is by definition, racist. Labor's the voice is ill-conceived and dividing Australia. Unite as one people, one nation, one flag.

  2. Where's the lie?

I'm sick of hearing east-coast metro people who have never experienced aboriginal life apart from 1 or 2 alumni in their lefty uni,
tell the country what happens in the bush where it's really at for the aboriginal people.

Wisest is she who knows she does not know.

  5. The government and virtue signallers are behaving like typical colonisers by expecting they can impose their culture and their beliefs on indigenous aborigines who don’t want to be colonised any further than they have been already.

  6. Describing the debate on this as "lacking detail" is understating the situation. The details of what the Voice will actually be are being kept a state secret. They want us to vote for something we're not allowed to know about!

  7. Only people benefiting off this Voice will be fake aboriginals and race shifters who shamelessly keep claiming they r aboriginals even after the aboriginals elders keep saying they r not, look at the recent example of Lauren o'dwyer ,Melbourne politician who suddenly found out she was aboriginal in her late 20's and she keep claiming it even though elders and all aboriginal bodies oppose her claims..

  8. What people don't realise is that once voice is recognised in constitution there would be no stopping to other voices emerging as well like the Muslim voice,African Voice,Chinese Voice etc…once all Australians cease to be equal the whole constitution will be destroyed, there'll be different laws governing different people..For Ex Muslims will live according to Sharia Law and so on..
