  1. I never saw or had a connection to Figment but a friend did. I’m glad he is getting lots of love even if it’s not for everyone. Every character whether they are from a film or ride deserves the same respect. Hopefully doing these meet and greets/phot shoots will Bering in new fans.

  2. I agree Encanto doesn’t belong in animal kingdom, neither does Indiana Jones. I also agree I preferred moana & zootopia concepts from last year for animal kingdom. Lastly I definitely agree would be Awsome if they were to create a Columbia pavilion at Epcot and put some Encanto things in that.

  3. Disagree with you on the Dinoland change. I think Tropical Americas makes far more sense than an entire land based on an average movie from 10 years ago. Does Encanto or Indiana Jones fit? Maybe not. But Avatar doesn't either. I'm just not as offended as you are.

  4. I am all for the dinoland rethem. If they have some animal exhibits or focus theming on nature in the central ameroca section, itll be perfect. Maybe focus more of the story in the indiana jones attraction on a mythical snake, rather than Mara, and you still have an animal themed attraction

  5. Can’t believe they will get ride of “Tough to be a Bug”. I loved that show. I love the interactions. No other ride has this type show. The end when bugs crawl out!! That is the best!! So sad 😢😢😢

  6. I have the same barker bird plush! I remember seeing him above the Q line in pirates of the Caribbean, I was hoping they would of put him back in the same spot though, I was also hoping that they would’ve built that really cool Festival Pavilion in Epcot, I really love the design and the look of it and it would’ve been really amazing to see that, being able to go on the top floor to the rooftop garden of the pavilion and watching fireworks from that spot would be amazing.

  7. I’m excited about the new version of test track, I’m hoping they enclose the outdoor portion of the ride so then if it rains they can still keep the ride open and not have to shut it down, I remember world of motion as a kid! It was one of my favorite rides, it was one of the Disney rides that had the most animatronics in it also. I would love for them to bring back the original Journey Into Imagination ride somehow, but with updated technology, and bring back dream finder and the dream ship etc Figment is the mascot of Epcot basically and that ride needs a lot of TLC 😁 I grew up with the original Figment ride and I loved it!

  8. The chevy branding on test track does seem totally out of place in the current form of EPCOT. It used to be a bit more normalized to have corporate logos and products shoved in your face but not really anymore.

Also by the time the Indiana Jones ride opens, the original ride will be 30+ years old, which is absolutely insane to 'clone' a ride that old.

  9. The Haunted Mansion is arguably the greatest and most beloved attraction in Disney history. The fact that they are too cheap to put the hatbox ghost somewhere after the seance scene is ridiculous. The ride is as close to perfect as they get and it just feels like Disney no longer cares about themeing or storytelling. Personally I’d rather have no hatbox ghost than have him in the endless hallway scene.

  11. The animatronic bears always creeped me out. Because of that I never went to the shows. I am all for any improvement they can give them. But realize this just may not be for me even with the updates.

  12. As far as the Figment meet n greet goes, I personally don’t care for character meet n greets, but I DO care about this being in the park, eating up people for a 5 hour line, because this park needs more attractions to eat people up 😂 I still haven’t ridden Frozen, as I have a personal rule that no ride is worth an hour wait (unless it’s something like cosmic rewind) but I love this news, as 5 hours is a lot of people that would otherwise be on other attractions which there still aren’t many at epcot…. On this note as I wish for more World showcase rides, i’m surprised they didn’t announce a Columbia Pavilion at Epcot, featuring the Encanto house as it’s main dark ride (I know just the place too, in between refreshment outpost and Germany is a HUGE plot of land for a show building in the back) there’s also no more Mary Poppins ride, which I’m hoping resurfaces in some form one day, to me Mary Poppins is the most iconic classic live action Disney character, she is at the level of disney animated classics Cinderella, Snow White, or Peter Pan, I would love to see a Mary Poppins attraction still happen

  13. In realizing the other night at Mickeys not so Scary that, even with the themed overlay, Alice’s Teacups ride has almost no one riding nowadays. Myself included. I hate that ride it simply makes me nauseous. But it had me thinking, what if we were to demolish this ride and create an Alice in Wonderland E-ticket ride? By demolishing Teacups, Cheshire Cafe, and the Fairytale Garden, we would make an extension of the castle building that closes off from the rest of tomorrowland (seeing tomorrowland from inside fantasyland takes me away from the theming) but also the new large castle wing would serve as the showbuilding for this new Alice in Wonderland ride, a spiritual successor to the one in Disneyland, but larger, with greater effects on the level of an E-ticket, that even adults would enjoy. It would be a 2-story attraction, using the up and down elevator mechanics similar to Rise of Resistance, but much calmer with a slow fall in the beginning to imitate alice falling down the hole, a slight 360 spin as its happening to homage the horrible teacups ride, or even in a scene with the mad hatter tea garden, where the ride does a quick spin. The ride ends with you actually shooting back up to simulate going back to normal size. All fun in theory, I doubt it could actually happen. I would design it too so that an actual tunnel walkway can still go under the attraction and into Tomorrowland, somewhere at the current Alice meet n greet path. A small garden facade would be in front, and most view of either lands will now be blocked off by this castle showbuilding taking the southeast end of Fantasyland.

  14. I have a special place in my heart specifically for the music and songs from Country Bears. I need to go buy the vinyl record. I like the actual bears and I’m glad they aren’t going anywhere but the music specifically holds my heart. I’m not ranting and raving mad about it, I don’t care about the name change on Romeo, I’ll be sad to see it go, but there’s a very solid chance they can make the new one work wonderfully.

And yes, the Tokyo version of the queue and things is incredible. So glad I got to see that this year too!

  15. I was annoyed by Zootopia in AK not because “it isn’t about conservation” but because it was another IP. But I actually thought Zootopia COULD be incredible for an Animal Kingdom theme. Yeah the movie is a good but messy take on racism and doesn’t have conservation in the text but under the surface it has a GREAT way to tackle how engineering can change (for better or worse) the environment and solve problems. I mean, the dream city in the movie has creative ways of bringing together animals of all sizes and needs, and does so creatively with things like having the desert area be on the back of the arctic area’s freezer to take advantage of the heat output.

Indiana Jones is just not a good choice. I think the Zootopia show is actually going to be more the angle I thought it could take.

  16. Encanto makes sense for tropical americas, especially if the ride involves the younger brother and all the animals he talks to, given it is animal kingdom. But for Indiana Jones, what will they have snake exhibits on display before the ride? (Actually a cool idea though) No, i think Indiana Jones is a cheap lazy redesign for Dinosaur, making a ride that already existed for 20 years. Instead I’d rather see an Emperor’s New Groove ride, involving the magic potions turning the cast and riders themselves into different different animals! See how it fits animal kingdom? *You can have a haunted mansion type room that edits your bodies in a mirror to show everyone on the ride has turned into different animals! Then the ride ends with a splash mountain type drop, complete with Yzma yelling “PULL THE LEVER!” yep, we need an Emperor’s New Groove ride in the tropical Americas ASAP.

  17. I totally agree with you, everything u said, I was like wow finally someone else besides me that really gets it, Walt was animation and a lot of Walt’s movies had animated animals, plan A made so much more sense to me, plan B makes no sense at all in my opinion.

  18. I’m mostly bummed that Hollywood Studios isn’t getting anything. For me personally, I have young kids, and there’s about 3 rides and 3 shows to do there before we run out of things for them to do. We almost never visit that park because of it. I don’t think it would be hard OR expensive to add a carousel and a dumbo style ride somewhere. Or turn the Little Mermaid building into an indoor playground. Or if we’re really shooting for the stars, adding DCA’s Cars Land over by Racing Academy.

  19. I agree with Tom, Zootopia would be a great fit for Animal Kingdom and so does Moana. Indiana Jones has no positive connection to animals or conservation (this should be in Hollywood Studios). I think Zootopia would be a wonderful concept where you could explore the biomes and the chase scene would make a fun replacement for Dinosore.

  20. I think a focus on South America in Animal Kingdom is definitely needed especially if there’s a heavy component towards education. The rainforest is instrumental in the survival of our planet and one of the last places on earth with untouched indigenous peoples.

  21. I have been saying that DAK has been missing a south america region forever. And I would consider Indiana Jones a conservationist. Archaeologists are studying and conserving items which can include dinosaur fossils. I could see this part of the new land keeping some of the dinosaur parts and the attraction about discovering a large dinosaur fossil and securing it before others, villains, try to retrieve it and sell it for money. I do understand that Encanto doesn't make sense for DAK but I could see them creating a beautiful animal trail in Antonio's animal treehouse room. While I also do love Dinoland and felt like they should have replaced Primeval Whirl with a "wooden" family coaster I am excited to get this new area that represents another part of the world with a wide variety of new unique animals we can get.

  22. Okay my thoughts section by section:
-I'd love to see a pirate themed restaurant come to Magic Kingdom. Seems like it would fit well with the ride.
-Couldn't care less about them changing the name of the bear. Haven't been to the show (I live in California), didn't know what that term meant, but I don't think anyone cares or should care. It's not like changing Splash Mountain, this is an easy fix no reasonable person could disagree with. Its a wait and see on if the new show is good.
-Don't mind although I think our location in California is superior lol. We have him after the attic scene which I can't figure out why Florida doesn't just do that.
-The Louis animatronic is winning me over for the new ride. If it looks well and the rest of the ride is on par with something like Tokyo's Splash Mountain but with Princess and the Frog themed to it, it will win me over.
-I haven't seen any walkthru videos of Journey of Water yet but I feel like most people like it so far.
-Im excited for Test Track 3. Let's hope for the best and have reasonable standards.
-RIP its tough to be a bug. I think I agree with him on the right place for Encanto; it needs to be in Epcot NOT Animal Kingdom. Indy certainly belongs with Hollywood Studios. Its time Disney gets serious about IP placement because they are so far quite far off from their roots as it relates to their parks. Would have loved a Zootopia area.
-Frozenland looks amazing and I can't wait to see how it looks completed.

  23. “Names” I have to disagree about the Animal Kingdom conversion. While I understand your points for keeping Zooptipa and Mona, I just think the new Tropical America fits pretty well with Animal Kingdoms running theme of featuring different regions of the world. If Encanto is nothing more then a meet and greet, I’m alright with that. While Indiana Jones is a strange choice, I think it’s one fans will enjoy much more then Dinosaur and has the potential of being another great man vs nature / man vs mythical that has been present in both Expedition Everest and a little bit of Pandora. Call me crazy in making that link but I have a feeling that’s what they were going for. Let me know what you think WDW News today.

  24. Country Bears are TERRIBLE, and aren't nearly as loved as Tom might like to think (same as GMR) but if they can make them more appealing to a wider audience AND make nostalgic fans happy … awesome.

  25. I’m personally happy with the placement of the hatbox ghost. I don’t think that his placement by the endless hallway is a big deal, especially after the explanation given at D23. It’s hard to know if they plan to get rid of the candelabra, or if they just left it out of the concept art. We’ll just have to wait and see.
