  1. Anyone that has not heard the song DO NOT LISTEN TO IT. Not because it's a bad song. It's amazing. It's used just absolutely perfectly in the movie, and Tom explains it spot on in this clip. Let the first time you hear it be how it's intended to be received – within the experience that is Top Gun Maverick. And when you watch it a second time, you will understand what Tom meant when he said that song also became the score. Go see it in IMAX. That's how it was shot, and any other screen will chop off over 20% of the shot (top and bottom).

  2. Tom doesn’t talk a lot overall. I understand that he might want the work to speak for itself, etc., but it’s time that we learned more about Tom as a person — before he’s gone.

  3. People can criticise Cruise's religious beliefs but the reality is: he never been arrested, never publicly overdosed or seen drunk in bars and never in scandalous relationships. The guy seems to live a clean life and that's great.

  6. Tom had such a bad reputation for a while there just because of his belief in Scientology. And I'm not saying he's perfect because yes, he's made a few gaffs in things he's said (about Brooke Shields' post-partum depression, etc.), but nobody is perfect. And they tried to make a big thing out of his "Blow-up" on the set of the new MI movie about to come out, which turned out to be because he didn't want anyone to break COVID protocols because then the crew couldn't work and make money.
He really does seem like such a great, genuine guy, and I absolutely adore him. He is probably my favourite actor.

  7. Tom Cruise deserves every bit of love and recognition he gets, and much more. I think I've got a few more smile lines just from watching this man talk about his craft and be so humble about it and there he is, still looking so ridiculously handsome lmao.
