  1. What’s killing me is that they aren’t really stirring the drinks they are drinking. Sipping the top of the whiskey drink is of course going to taste like whiskey because that’s the last thing they put in the drink. Please, just give your cocktails a very good stir and then try to drink from the middle of the drink with your straw.

Love Nana’s insight and education of the dishes! More Nana!

  2. izakaya is not quite home-style. It's a place for drinking and snacks. So it's kind of like "tapas" style. Usually have various kinds of home style food but much better prepared. Natto Roll is not the cheapest. Kappa Roll (cucumber) is usually the cheapest. Soy Sauce and Miso are more fermented soy bean. Good Natto is slightly sweet and minimal sticky (although some people like the sticky). Bad Natto is positively awful. (Most Natto in the US is ok now; not like 50 years ago when it was not). ( I can get the eye out even with those chopsticks.)

  3. Come to Las Vegas!! We have multiple (high quality) All You Can Eat sushi restaurants where, for $35 per person, you can order whatever you want from the entire menu… as much as you want. I've even been to a la carte restaurants where a boat like that wouldn't cost much more than $100. This is way worse than a theme park upcharge. They're trying to double-dip both the fine-dining and theme park upcharges at the same time. They can't have both!

  4. It's really interesting having someone who KNOWS about the food and the usual use for it. 2fer. Not only watching WDW News, but Breedlove and Emma from AllEars. I love Asian food and it looks great, but the prices are astronomical. I think we'll give these guys a miss.

  5. This was so fun. It was fun to hear Japanese. Tom did a great job nudging Nana to explain her views, and it was fun to watch Nana because she was certain whether she liked or didn’t like.
Thank you Tom for giving us this expensive review. The sushi boat will be a must on our next trip. It was fun. Reminds me of the fanfare of the kitchen sink at beaches and cream.
