  1. we were there during autumn and we enjoyed it a lot. outside there were Christmas decorations and had some great photos taken. We also did some shopping inside the mall. Wish we could go back to Tokyo and in Japan coz we wanted to go to different prefectures especially in Aomori and Hokkaido.

  2. Enjoyed this JD. I’ve walked to Skytree from Asakusa. I think it’s a beautiful tower too. And there’s good shopping and there was a good n reasonable sushi restaurant in the mall area up the escalator plus a nice lobby area up there to watch the trains go by! I have my tkt and hotel paid for a December trip. Fingers crossed!

  3. I stayed near the Tokyo Skytree during my travel in 2018-19 but climbed it in 2019. The views so spectacular during nighttime (would love to climb again in the daytime). Love this area and visited the Tokyo Solamachi. Once travel is allowed, I will again stay here (and fingers crossed my favorite hotel designed by Kengo Kuma is open). Thank you for visiting this area!

  4. This brings back memories. I remember when I was inside the upper deck in Tokyo skytree watching the beautiful panoramical view of the whole Tokyo. It was a clear day In August 2012. I bought an icecream at the tower. There was nowhere I could seat after standing for a long time in the line to get the elevator that took me up to the observatory but eventhough I was tired I didn’t care. The view from the top of the tower was what mattered to me. And I thank God that my dream came true 😇

  5. Unfortunately I missed this stream (came at bedtime for me on US east coast), but Tokyo Skytree is one of my favorite attractions in Tokyo. Always love the streams, keep up the good work John! Totally agree that Tokyo Skytree is great for shopping and lunch. The shops are really special.

  6. Thank you for this beautiful go episode, John! Last time I went there, I lost my bag (with passport inside!) & so we went to the Koban, thats around the bus terminal (minute 20 in your video). The policeman's name was Mr.Kobayashi & he took me inside the Skytree CCTV center where they got my bag!!😅

  7. I visited the Skytree today for the first time. When I was at the top, I thought , yes, this is exactly where I want to be in a big earthquake. It seems counterintuitive but a structure like this is very well built. I'm excited and happy to hear you'll be posting an edited video on the engineering that went into making it earthquake safe.

  8. Still remember when I was at Asakusa back in December 2018 I witnessed the tallest tower in the world it was a surreal piece of neo-futuristic architecture hehe! 😁

  9. Hi John, Have you every heard about or thought about teaching baby sign language to Leo? Yeah, I know it might sound funny or weird, because we usually associate signing with the deaf. But, you can teach Leo a few simple hand signals so he can communicate with you better and it will decrease his frustration, as well as yours. There's tons of baby sign language videos on YouTube. Both of my sister-in-laws taught their children baby sign. Now they are all teenagers and doing very well. Hope this information helps.

  10. When I was there in 2014 I went to up the 1st level Observation deck. Was temped to go up to the second, but resisted because I knew I wanted to go into the Ghibli store when we came down so I saved my pennies. When I went back in 2015, they had a Star Wars exhibit on for the release of Star Wars Episode 7, which I decided was worth going up for. Had a great time and the exhibit was really awesome! Still yet to go up during the day, heard the day/dusk view is amazing!
