With their own language, culture, and traditions, the Uyghurs are a unique ethnic group mostly residing in Xinjiang in Western China. There are around 12 million Uyghurs, but nearly all are suffering from state-sponsored genocide. In recent years the government in Beijing has carried out a brutal campaign against them. With millions of Uyghurs with a cellphone in their hands, not one single picture of genocide ever produced that has made headlines across the news, no smoking gun whatsoever when interneting it.

This is outrageous. This is why Russia and China need to be restrained. The rest of the democratic world is so comfortable that we no longer hear the cry of the suffering.

The extensive history of dislike makes you wonder why China wants this region. Why not just grant them independence and trade with them, as England did last century.
It is good that the Ukraine invasion is highlighting other wrongs. We hope the awareness will go far and end these wrongs, they are not isolated, they are the same regime, the same thinking.

I agree with her and empathize with the plight of the Ughyers but I do have a couple of questions. She talked about the Pope and yes, he should speak out against the treatment of these people. What I want to know, is with Muslim countries, Saudi Arabia, Iran and others plus Muslim countries in Africa, have THEY, the Muslim leaders condemned Russia for their treatment of their Muslim people? Are all the Imans and leaders condemning China? I would hope so! Unfortunately, almost if not all, countries put economic benefits above all else which is why the world is afraid to push China too far. It isn't right or moral but it IS, tragically, the world we live in today.
