Phuket is over priced, over crowded and over rated. Thais in other provinces refer to it as a "lum dam" or black hole. It was great 25 years ago but it's been all down hill since then. Forget about it.

If they do decide to revamp Utapao airport in the near future, the Rayong area will become the new destination spot for those who want to stay out of the Pattaya debauchery madness! As far as Phuket is concerned, its to over crowded now and the infrastructure is already tasked to its limits right now. A bigger airport will only increase the populace and overwhelm the area, which is in a fragile state as it is! Hua Hin is developing really fast and a bigger airport renovation, will definitely change the face of that area! I really get it, when it comes to Thailand tourism situation, however these areas are already losing the charm along with increased problems with criminal activity! Sometimes, one has to take a step back from the profit margin and take a look at what made these areas great in the first place. Unfortunately, as with any other beautiful places in the world, that cater to tourism, the bottom line will always trump the beauty! As Joni Mitchell once sang "They paved paradise, put up a parking lot"! Great show Tim, looking forward to GOM to start my Sunday!

Good afternoon Tim from Heidelberg . I think the TAT never watch in other country world wide , people have many problems whit the inflation , the airlines ticket are expensive for normal tourist and so long . In Europe many people don't have enough money for life . The Chinese have big problem too whit the economy so I don't think Thailand will reach the 40 millions tourist for the next few years .
Forward party was the standing party they came first so in any other democratic government they form a coalition .

I went to exchange some US dollars for the Baht. I was kind of surprised to see that the British Pound was about 10 points higher than the dollar. I am not sure if this is due to the economic problems that the USA has, or if that is a special rate given to the British.
While the new prime minister was walking in Old Phuket the other day, in response to a question by a reporter, he said that for many tourists who come from cold countries, a 30 day visit is too short so it would be reasonable to allow them to stay for 90 days. He did not say explicitly that he is thinking about extending the 30-day visa exemption to 90 days, but we can hope.
I feel Thailand is already overrun with tourists. And they want more? There was talk of bringing high end tourists during COVID. Now they are back to mass tourism.
The new prime minister will build, build, and build. All the politicians get money under the table from construction projects. Nothing changes in Thailand.
