Tiny Shop with Morgan Hop: Episode 4 – Main workstation, tool setup, and organization

Welcome to Episode 4 of Tiny Shop with Morgan Hop! It’s been a while since my last update on the project and a LOT has happened. Long story short, the shop was becoming a money pit. Although I would love to take my time making these update videos more regularly, I needed to focus on work that would actually generate some income. After the last episode, I got the shop in good enough shape to start working in it, creating videos for various brands – primarily, Onefinity CNC.

Some of the big milestones I hit since the last video are…

I got two CNCs assembled and operational. Check out the videos on Onefinity’s YouTube Channel.

I (mostly) built my main workstation, incorporating my upgraded Sawstop Jobsite Saw, jointer/planer, Rockler Pro Router Lift, with my Onefinity Journeyman underneath, and an assembly station.
Built a pipe clamp rack with my CNC.

Finally installed my Wall Control panels got myself a little better organized.
Got 2 desks set up in the office area – 1 for general computing and one for 3D printing & shipping. Check out the “Flying Saucer 2-Axis Clamps” on my Etsy shop.

I sorta haphazardly hooked my tools up to dust collectors just so I could use them, but in the next episode, I’ll be setting up dust collection for the whole shop. Tune in next time to see how I manage dust in a small space, and you can too.

Thanks for watching, and thanks again to Rockler, Wall Control, and Onefinity for supporting the project!

  1. Thanks for the update and the shoutout to onefinity, that led to hours of research on youtube, and I'm def sold on one! If it's not already on your list, an overview/build video of your CNC base/enclosure would be awesome. Even just info like dimensions, how you routed dust collection, and general tips would be much appreciated.

  2. Hi Morgan. New subscriber. I was looking for inspiration for a small shop and found your channel. I like your origninal workbench with the saw incorporated in it. Looking forward to seeing more of what you do. Oh, and still no catchphrase I see. It will come to you in a flash of inspiration one day. Keep at it.
