“TIME TO SPILL THE BEANS” | | Real Life Trucking – Husband & Wife Team Owner Operators

Episode No. 193

**********************************

Alice & Martin are husband & wife owner operators based out of Northern California running a 2009 Kenworth W900 with over 1.1 million miles and counting.

After managing a Linehaul fleet at FedEx Ground for 5 years and losing that job they returned to their trucking roots in 2021 as team drivers leased with Ceva and in 2022 choose to reactivate their own authority focusing on running the spot market hauling flatbed freight – however as the spot market began to falter Alice & Martin opted to close the authority, sell the trailer and return back to Ceva once again.

This channel has been created to share the how to’s, successes and yes, failures of owning and operating your own trucking company. This is real life trucking, nothing is withheld or edited out to make it look glamorous or pretty.

  1. I'm glad that you are expanding your fleet. Let the hater's hate I fell in love with trucking at an early age and I would prefer to drive manual shift. Yes there's going to be pro's and con's with everything but like my father said to me when I was learning how to drive. If you can drive a manual transmission then you can drive almost anything. With that said I have always wanted to learn how to drive a truck like fancy for many years. I don't have my cdl but I would love to get it just so I can gain the experience and the thrill of just driving a manual transmission. Please keep up the good content and I can't say enough about how good looking fancy is. I'm also great full for ceva to allow you to lease back on with them.

  2. The old vehicles really give pleasure when using them. However, their era is now over. Now there is a need for all kinds of economic variations in the face of these high expenditures. In logistics, it is possible to provide this with the best new generation vehicles.Keep on trucking…..

  3. Fancy is the Boss, but sometimes you gotta go with what makes financial sense and the comfort factor is a thing when you spend day and night for four straight days in that thing. Love the channel can wait to see what the future holds for your new fleet.

  4. I’m going to watch this 10 times! Did I hear this correctly? Did you buy an aerodynamic truck with X15 efficiency and a 12 speed Endurant just like I own? The same kind of truck I suggested you buy for less down time and more profitable?
You guys must have drank the Cool-aid I sent you.😂

  5. These trucks are more comfortable, ride better, more efficient. I owned two W900s and three 378s. But you can’t beat the new technology.
The EGR/DEF systems are manageable. It’s a system just like any other.
No! Martin even if you ran Solo. There is no intelligent reason to run a Hood truck. Personally I do think hood trucks look better than the aerodynamic trucks. They each have there own “look” and I don’t think hoods look better. Just different.
I don’t say drivers look cool in hood trucks. I say “Wow! That idiot pays an extra $30k a year and thinks he looks cool. What a fool”

  6. Love your channel and I’m super happy for you both!! Just wanted to ask you, if Tiny is for a new team and Fancy is for solo are you hanging it up on driving or buying another truck? And I loved your last video driving Donner and putting chains on the best of the week.

  8. Alice and Martin, I believe you have made very good decisions. It is obvious that you are comfortable with business decisions and risks involved in the trucking profession. You are showing the world how folks with a positive attitude can move forward in these tough times. Keep em truckin.

  9. It only makes sense in trucking to run the most fuel-efficient truck you can. I know you get the dinosaurs saying newer trucks are junk and they'll launch into a big conversation about old Cat engines, but they just can't deal with progress. Congrats on the truck.
