The problem is the veterans who seem to forget the oath they took when entering the service. We are supposed to defend the constitution not try to find ways to police it. That’s not our job.

My friends and I typically don’t chime in on the “I’m an Operator and this is what I think” conversation, but I guess that’s the problem. Btw, the term “Operator” should really be reserved for special mission units but that’s another conversation. We are supposed to be a community of silent professionals, though every tribe has their attention seeking turds. Just know 90ish percent of the SOF community are 2A absolutists. Most of the decent guys have no interest in being in the spotlight, some do it to spread knowledge and motivate our populace to be more capable and enjoy the satisfaction of that journey, while building a sense of community. A vast majority of “training” in the military as a whole is trash, that argument holds zero weight. I’ve absolutely served with guys that said “I support the 2A, but…..” However most of those guys have since woken up to the reality of the direction our country and society are heading towards and now proclaim “belt feds for all”.
Anyone who says "you shouldn't own a weapon of war unless you served" is promoting class warfare.

Where were the elite IDF when the concert and kibbutz attacked by Hamas, I read it took six hours for IDF to get there. Israel’s strict gun control left them defenseless and slaughtered other than a small group with guns. National military service is mandatory for all Israeli citizens over the age of 18, although Arab (but not Druze) citizens are exempted if they so please. Where as in the United States only 0.04% serve in our military. Not enough x military bodies to jump up and help fight if a situation like Israel or Ukraine happens across our southern border. Would they then want all Americans to help who want to help. Be great if those citizens have some experience with firearms. Our military is awesome but cannot be everywhere at same time in our country, just like police.
