Someone from the fishing community here and I see no one answering it: I love largemouth. I live in a very clean area, though, with clean waters compared to Florida. It’s a mild whitefish. People don’t like to kill them because they’re a sports fish , but you aren’t gonna want to take a 5+ pounder from the water. It’s gonna be tougher and not as good of meat since it’s older. Usually, if I’m feeling like filleting one, I’ll keep a 3 pounder.
even better than LMs are Smallmouth bass, which are sweeter. The issue is you need a much bigger smallie for the same amount of meat. They’re mostly muscle.

Fresh caught bass isn't terrible if u cook it right. But it's better as sushi. So long as it's just tapeworm it's fine, it's a great way to kp ur weight down! Models even purposely infect themselves w/ larvae to stay fresh & fit ! 😂
