The Unrelenting Pursuit of Excellence. Thatโs what Dean Stottโs chasing โ a 16-year career Veteran, Deanโs started his military service by joining the SBS, an elite special forces unit of the United Kingdom. In 2011, an injury pushed Dean into the private security sector, providing expertise to governments, presidents, and royals, including single-handedly evacuating the Canadian Embassy in Libya in 2014. Then in 2016, Dean set his sights on a new challenge โ cycling all 14,000 miles of the Pan-American Highway, a feat he completed while nabbing two world records to boot.
An author, a speaker, and a personal friend of Englandโs Prince Harry, itโs safe to say Deanโs got no shortage of incredible stories from his globetrotting work in protecting the people that matter most, from everyday citizens to the most privileged among us. But whatโs the real difference between an SBS Operator and their U.S. counterpart? How does one go about evacuating an entire embassy, alone, under threat of danger? And how exactly does someone manage to cycle the entire length of the American continent in just 99 days? Letโs meet Dean.

Nice interview. The SAS, SBS, and RM Commandos are the words foundation and daddies of SF since WW2. They perfected SF decades befure anyone else. Everyone else is a copy of them.
Love how he goes along with it and calls it "soccer" or "sarccer" to appease the US audience!!
What was that hand gun manufacturer he was talking about at the beginning?
Here in Los Angeles, "You make your own luck" is called, "white privilege"… or "Asian Privilege"…. or who ever made it for themselves, is a nazi. Haa haa!!
It's always the baddies committing genocide innit.
Great interview Mike , watching from NZ

I met the guy who helped start the special boat service, he was their first colour sergeant I met him in Ajax Ontario he had come from England to honor those people who were stationed on the Ajax in world war II this guy was tough as nails pretty awesome guy.
My eldest daughter was born in RAF Wroughton, sadly no longer there.
What dean says about gun control in the UK isn't quite correct. Firstly, ownership isn't limited to shotguns. And for a shotgun certificate, you don't actually need to have a reason (unless they ask but, this isn't part of the application). So barring any criminal convictions or mental health issues anyone can own a shotgun, provided you can store it safely.
You can also have bolt action rifles, up to pretty much any caliber. But for a firearms certificate, you DO need a valid reason to have it, be it hunting or target shooting etc.
Google howed and wood killings if you want to know about the Ireland killings. Brutal

Ya' heard it first..tha' wily Drop host aggrandising..'tackle soccer'..sans padding, of course ya' limp wristed Euro bun boys..oi!
Every Brit even my nan cringes when you say tier1 sas/sbs ๐ we donโt do tiers we just say youโre fucked or proper fucked no tiers ๐ ๐ฌ๐ง
Is there any special forces operative who hasn't started a podcast or written a book?
What a bunch of pansies.
2 major incidents in the UK impacted firearm ownership and legislation Dunblane and Hungerford. Gun ownership is still legal with certain restrictions. Mainly long rifles and shotguns. Long barrelled pistols only with extensions to the pistol grip. No semi automatics long rifles above .22 calibre. Gun ownership here is not a right it's a privilege and extremely well enforced along with detailed application process.
