Ticket Stub Memories

  1. I found my ticket stubs in a crate in my garage about 10 years back. They were all stuck together because of the cold and head over the years. They must have been in there for about 15 years or so.

There was one show that I did go to that I do not have a ticket stub. I never had a ticket stub for this show. Me and my best friend were in 6th grade and his older brother took us to see the Clash at the Palladium in NYC in Sept 1979. He worked the lights at the Palladium and we watched it from one of the spotlight rigs with him as he worked. It was my third concert. The first was Kiss in '77 and the second was Queen in '78 … both at MSG in NYC and both with my parents who were big fans.

  2. I stopped by Third Man Records during a trip to Nashville in September, and while I didn’t have a Jack White encounter, I can confirm that the staff that was working the record store was the absolute best. Just really nice and super helpful. It was noticeable enough that I actually complimented them about it to their faces. It didn’t come across as trained or forced behavior either. I think they just hire the right people to best represent the store and brand.

  3. Hey Chris, hope you are doing well. Great stories. I have always regretted simply throwing out most, if not all, of my ticket stubs from both music shows and sporting events. I can't remember a great deal of them now and I know it would be so much easier with a ticket stub. Oh well…
Btw, I'm so sorry to hear about Bennett. I figured something may have happened because on the last few videos you didn't hear his nails tick-tacking across your floor. I have always been a dog person and I know it's tough to get over. I'm sure he was a great friend and that you must miss him terribly. Again, my condolences.
    Take care of yourself,
    John

  4. Am I seeing a Joe Henry Short Man's Room cd on the top shelf? Man what I wouldn't give to see that get a vinyl press. Music on Vinyl did such a killer job with Shuffletown I was really hoping for more of the back catalog to get the treatment.

  5. Great stories. I love "Not For The Season." as well. Top tier Wilco. Super cool you got to see Loose Fur. Then you follow it with a Tweedy/Bennett show. Damn. I don't remember them touring alone together. Must not have come to Minneapolis. Loved that you mentioned Bennett the dog as well.
