The tumblr post I mentioned: https://movie-robotnik-positivity.tumblr.com/post/614140869969412096/sonic-movie-deleted-scene-2-original-backstory

I figured I should whip this up and get it out there before the second movie comes out and nobody cares about anyone’s take on the first one anymore. More vids coming soon including my take on the sequel.

  1. So glad they redesigned Sonic and didn't stick with the first one– that design is literal garbage.
Other than that, I love this movie and the way they went with it; and an interesting use of rings from the original Sonic the Hedgehog series.

  2. btw not to be a cinemasins abt ur vid, but they said that it wasnt an emp, it was their first instinct "but electromagnetic pulses don't have THAT kinda power". so in actuality it wouldve killed EVEN MORE people. anyways great vid, enjoyed 😀

  3. I disliked this movie because it didn't feel like Sonic, but I didn't hate it. For what it is, it's mediocre. I feel like it's the benefactor of low expectations and a lot of people oversold it just because it turned out to not be shit. I thought the second movie was better and more Sonic-like.

  4. I think the Olive Garden one was funny as fuck. You have to keep quiet about something so serious and the government gives you a $50 Olive Garden gift card assuming it’s enough to make sure you never speak

  5. its interesting to finally see some opinon on this movie from a real big sonic fan, because ive basically only seen reviews of it based on the fact that its one of the first good video game movies, and you can hear basically only good things about it. but hearing it from a sonic perspective, not a video game perspective was really nice! i can see the points about it that youve made and they make perfect sense.

and lets be real, i will always hold this movie close to my heart, because it opened the gates to the sonic world for me, so i cant do anything but love it haha.

  6. I genuinely appreciate that the first movie played it safe and didn't go too much for the "typical" Sonic vibe. It acted more as a grounded warm up and allowed people to familiarise with the characters and the motives before it all gets amped up in Sonic 2. Just felt like there was some necessary restraint involved for a shot at a big screen sonic movie introduced to a general audience. People who might be getting into Sonic for the first time through this movie and it acts like a gateway into all the games and comics and shows and such. That's me, I'm people.

  7. Everybody probably knows this by now but the Olive Garden thing wasn't actually product placement. It was just a gag they kept, and I think it's kinda funny as a dig. Fifty dollars at a shitty restaurant that we actually know for all that stuff they went through instead of like, "whaaaat, Burger Town? That place has horrible reviews!" lands as a joke.

  8. Yeah I can't finish the video. You act like the movie was supposed to be video game movie and not a movie about sonic. I'm a sonic fan, and love your vids, but there is a very big distinction between those two things. I think this is a perfect sonic movie straight up.
