Yes, of course I meant 2014 and not 2024…I did warn you about time travel

  1. Here's a theory I want to bring up. Some of the screenshots we see of the Side Order expansion seem to have an emphasis on elevators. Examples are at 5:44 and 6:05. It's possible that the "lobby" of wherever this elevator is at is the equivalent of the Deepsea Metro train car that we see Agent 8 in between tests, and that all the challenges in the expansion are said to be "Floors" or something, maybe similar to things like Luigi's Mansion 3 / those elevator games from Roblox and the sort. That, or the elevator is an end-game thing that the protagonist works towards repairing.

  2. I know it not likely to happen but adding apartment in splat1, would be cool instead of putting lockers in inkolpolis, since the splat1 entry intro is the actual inkling room

But I wonder what the foyer looks like inside the multiplayer lobby and probably will not skip the squid sisters news as OG splat 1 player.

I wonder what other next 2 wave since there is 4 color (yellow green blue & red) so we are getting more DLC content, the wave 2 will aired somewhere this year since next year is the 2 year lifespan I believe,

  3. 5:29 i bet the side order has a story revolving around or even playing around the real word topic of CORAL BLEACHING effect/phenomenen that’s hapoening in our reefs. i can’t wait to dive into that story

  4. I'm guessing the 2024 thing is a placeholder. I'm really hoping they add a modified Splatoon 1 single-player campaign. Same story, but maps designed as challenge modes. The base of people nostalgic for Splatoon 1 is probably smaller than the pool of people who haven't played Splatoon 1.

  5. A joke from the end of the video about the "lizard people" conspiracy theory (a truly bizarre idea that wealthy elites in our society are actually not humans) is in the process of being removed as it's been brought to my attention that the conspiracy theory is, in fact, anti-semitic in nature. It's definitely nowhere near as silly a thing as I thought it was, and I sincerely apologize to those who were more aware of the context of it than I was.

  6. The screencap at 5:50 looks like the Waste Isolation Pilot Plant's hypothetical concept of a spikefield structure made with the intent of scaring away future humans (or squids) from digging up a site where nuclear waste is stored. Vox's video, "Why danger symbols can’t last forever" did an amazing idea covering the topic. This plus the dead coral motif makes me wonder if climate degradation or nuclear war might play an important role in the story.

  7. One interesting idea I've seen floated around is that there could be another two 'waves' of DLC to come sometime after these initial two. It's entirely based on the fact that the logos/imagery we've been shown features four different coloured splats and text boxes – indigo, turquoise, red and yellow. They've attributed Inkopolis to yellow and Side Order to indigo so while it isn't a lot of evidence to go off of, the specific choice of four colours does seem intentional.

As other's have pointed out, the December 2024 date for wave 2 is a placeholder date, just to affirm the fact that it will be realising next year but they can't account for when exactly yet. With the 2 years of consistent free dlc/updates coming to an end in late 2024, a third and fourth wave of paid extras beyond that to revive some interest would make sense – reminiscent of some of the big additions in Splatoon 2's later updates (such as MPU added, Sheldon's Picks returning, special Splatfests, etc.) albeit on a grander scale.

  8. I think part of the reason the writers can get away with using themes such as racism, war, genocide, and whatever the hell Agent 8 is going through is that splatoon’s juvenile attributes sort of distract you from those dark themes. On surface level, you wouldn’t expect such things to come from splatoon.

  9. As a non native english speaker, I'm not sure, but… Side order is a pun, right?

It can be seen as either
    "Side: Order"
    As opposed to
    "Side: Chaos"
As in which side you're on.

    OR
It can be "side order" as in, an order at a restaurant. A "side dish". I think that's a VERY fitting name for a DLC. Literally more side comtent

  10. Unrelated to the vid but, how can I adjust to motion controls in handheld mode? I play on a lite and have trouble with motion because I don’t have a pro controller and having to move the camera means me having to move the entire screen and my body and it just feels kind inconvenient and clunky
