Thought Forms (1905) by Annie Besant and C.W. Leadbeater

Summary: Thought Forms: A Record of Clairvoyant Investigation, is based on the idea that ‘thoughts are things’ and that a person’s emotions emit colorful auras of pattern and form. Charles Leadbeater and Annie Besant attempt to help us conceive this truth by describing their clairvoyant observations to painters who produced the 58 illustrations contained in the book and then by providing their interpretations of those illustrations.

At the core of the book is the idea that thoughts are not just abstract mental concepts, but are real and tangible forms that have a powerful influence on the physical world. The authors argue that every thought we have creates a corresponding “thought form” that exists in the ether and has a real and tangible impact on the world around us.

Throughout the book, the authors explore the different types of thought forms that exist, including those that are positive and negative, and those that are related to different emotions and states of consciousness. They also offer practical advice for using the power of thought to create positive change in the world.

Charles Leadbeater and Annie Besant wrote that, “It is well for us ever to bear in mind that there is a hidden side to life—that each act and word and thought has its consequence in the unseen world which is always so near to us, and that usually these unseen results are of infinitely greater importance than those which are visible to all upon the physical plane.”

Thought Forms is considered to have had a major influence on abstract artists such as Wassily Kandinsky, Piet Mondrian, Hilma Af Klint, and Paul Klee.

Annie Besant was a well respected orator, writer, social rights activist, and president of the Theosophical Society based in Adyar, Chennai, India from 1907 to her death in 1933. Charles Webster Leadbeater was known for his writings, his clairvoyant observations, and his raising and educating of Jiddu Krishnamurti. Leadbeater went on to write over 60 books and pamphlets and gave lectures until his death in 1934.

  1. Only the human would seek to prove with complexity the simplicity of the creator. Before science, recordings, and the arrogant ego, Jesus said”as a man thinks so is he” way before science the continuous way is shown…..it is the mind. Simply answer this question. Why must the small human attempt to prove greatness to match the human created dilution? Tell a human something is hidden, a secret, or more than they know from inside and the book will sell millions. We can wake up.

  2. Books are vessels that contain all the information we need to learn/unlearn and remember. I used to be financially depressed until I read a book that made me realized that the secret to making a million is making better investments.

  4. Where it says about it meditation trying to raise thoughts towards the logos of the solar system, does it actually mean thinking about the sun? I know in the law of one the sun is referred to as our logos

  5. ☄️"All sin is rebellion against God, all of it produced by pride. Pride seeks to dethrone God. It seeks to un-god God. It seeks to strike a fatal blow at His sovereignty and His majesty and to replace God with self. Pride grips the sinner's heart."☄️

  6. '😢Pride loves to climb up, not as Zacchaeus to see Christ, but to be seen.😮The wicked, through the pride of his countenance, will not seek after God: God is not in ALL his thoughts. Psalms 10:4

God judgeth the righteous, and God is ANGRY with the wicked every day.

    more offensive to human pride
than the idea that we need
    saving. The truth of our
    spiritually bankrupt condition is
too hard to bear. We prefer to
    think of ourselves as having
    sufficient wisdom and
    righteousness of our own."💯
Where God's Spirit does not reign, there is no humility, and men ever swell with inward pride.😮

THEN ANOTHER BOOK WAS OPENED, WHICH IS THE BOOK OF LIFE; AND THE DEAD WERE JUDGED ACCORDING TO WHAT THEY HAD DONE AS WRITTEN IN THE BOOKS [THAT IS, EVERYTHING DONE WHILE ON EARTH). AND IF ANYONE'S NAME WAS NOT FOUND WRITTEN IN THE BOOK OF LIFE, HE WAS HURLED INTO THE LAKE OF FIRE.☄️☄️ REVELATION 20:12, 15 AMP
