Thomas Kinkade, the self-styled “Painter of Light,” was a prolific artist known for his pastoral landscapes of cottages, gardens, lighthouses and churches. The Christian artist also apparently had secret designs for people to live and work in outer space.
We’ve just received some previously unseen paintings attributed to Thomas Kinkade, that have a futuristic bent.
When not painting cobblestone main streets or quaint villages blanketed in snow, it seems Kinkade spent countless hours laboring over designs for an earth-orbiting space station, a lunar base to be built on the surface of our moon, and a colony to be constructed on Mars.
As a devout Christian, it seems that Kinkade wanted to honor the glory of God by encouraging people to move into outer space so we could all gaze directly at the wonders of the almighty’s creation.
“With whatever talent and resources I have, I’m trying to bring light to penetrate the darkness many people feel,” explained Kinkade.
Visualizing new space habitats with idyllic paintings is the first step in humanity actually living amongst the stars, as we reflect on the anniversary of NASA’s Apollo 11 moon landing anniversary of July 1969.
